More than 1,100 candidates took the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year at Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School.

On June 9, more than 1,100 9th grade students from secondary schools in the province participated in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year at Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School ( Hanoi National University of Education, Ha Nam branch). This is the 6th year the school has conducted enrollment, the year with the largest number of candidates registering for the exam.

The exam was held in 1 day, June 9. In the morning, candidates took 2 exams in Math and English; in the afternoon, they took the Literature exam. It is known that in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year, Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School will enroll 5 10th grade classes with a target of 175 students, a fairly high competition rate. Out of nearly 1,100 candidates registered for the exam, 8 students with high achievements in provincial-level excellent student exams and Math and English competitions organized by Hanoi National University of Education were given priority for direct admission by the school.

Candidates taking the competency assessment test will be admitted based on the total admission score achieved (competency assessment score is calculated according to the formula: Literature test score x 2 + Math test score x 2 + English test score + incentive points (if any).

To organize the 2023-2024 school year entrance exam for grade 10 high school, the school's examination council has set up 47 examination rooms; mobilized 115 staff and teachers of the Hanoi National University of Education Branch in Ha Nam and teachers from schools under the Department of Education and Training of Phu Ly city. At the same time, coordinated with Department PA 03 (Provincial Police) and Phu Ly city police to ensure safety and security for the exam. The youth volunteer force was strengthened, actively supporting candidates in finding examination rooms, distributing free drinking water, etc.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Chairwoman of the 10th grade entrance exam council of Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School, said: The 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year is organized by the school with the goal of being safe, transparent, and substantially contributing to improving the quality of admissions. Previously, the school had established an Admissions Council; established committees, including: Secretariat, Exam Committee, Invigilator, Marking Committee, Exam Scoring Committee, Inspection Committee... Members of the Admissions Council and committees are assigned specific tasks. In particular, during the time before, during and after the exam to assess candidates' abilities, the school has a plan to coordinate with the police force to strengthen measures to ensure security and safety of the exam; coordinate with the Department of Education and Training of Phu Ly city to mobilize cadres and teachers to participate in exam supervision and grading with the school's Examination Council; Proactively implement disease prevention measures and coordinate the handling of arising medical issues.

According to the records, with the efforts of the Examination Council and the coordination of related forces, the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year of Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School took place smoothly, safely, and in accordance with regulations.

Based on the enrollment target of 175 10th graders, the school has 10 direct enrollment targets, 100 targets based on academic records combined with competency assessment tests, and 65 targets based on the results of the 10th grade entrance exam of the Department of Education and Training. After the exam ends, the school's Examination Council will promptly conduct the grading, admission by the DGNL method, announce the results, and enroll students who have passed the exam and are admitted based on the results of the 10th grade entrance exam organized by the Department of Education and Training. It is expected that by June 15, 2023, there will be an official announcement of the candidates' admission results.
