More than 300 fishing boats were guided into Truong Sa special zone to take shelter from storm Kalmaegi.

Currently, more than 300 fishing boats with over 3,000 fishermen have been guided to take shelter from the storm on islands in Truong Sa special zone (Khanh Hoa province).

On November 4, the People's Committee of Truong Sa special zone said that up to now, more than 300 fishing boats with over 3,000 fishermen have been guided to take shelter from storm Kalmaegi at islands with ports such as Song Tu Tay, Sinh Ton, Truong Sa, Da Tay...

The islands have provided over 20,000 liters of fresh water, many essential necessities and arranged temporary accommodation on the island for fishermen during the time affected by the storm.

On the islands, officers, soldiers and forces are coordinating with people to reinforce houses, tie down vehicles, move people and property to safety, and increase support for fishermen by providing food, fresh water, medical care, and ensuring a stable life in conditions where the storm may last a long time.

Rescue forces and vehicles in the special zone are always ready to mobilize in emergency situations, not to be passive or surprised.

On the same day, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phu - Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Construction - said that this unit has reviewed locations across the province at risk of landslides to develop a plan to ensure safety for people and vehicles.

According to Mr. Phu, at high-risk landslide locations such as Khanh Le Pass, Khanh Son Pass, Ngoan Muc Pass... Khanh Hoa Department of Construction has arranged functional forces to be on duty 24/7 to respond to landslides and natural disasters that may occur at any time when a storm makes landfall.

Also on November 4, the Khanh Hoa Department of Education and Training issued a document requesting relevant units to develop plans to ensure safety for students, teachers, and educational administrators, proactively let students stay home from school, and absolutely not organize teaching and educational activities for students when safety is not guaranteed.
