More than 4,665 billion VND for renovation and reconstruction along To Lich River

The project upgrades the landscape on both sides of the To Lich River to meet the entertainment and community needs of the people, while contributing to environmental protection towards sustainable development.

On the afternoon of November 13, at the thematic session (27th session), the Hanoi People's Council, term XVI, 2021 - 2026, passed a Resolution approving the investment policy for the project to renovate, embellish and reconstruct the park along both sides of the To Lich River.

The project has a total preliminary investment of about more than 4,665 billion VND, in the form of a build-transfer (BT) contract, with land funds paid to investors; implementation period from the fourth quarter of 2025 to the fourth quarter of 2028. Proposed investor: Sun Group Joint Stock Company.

Accordingly, the project is expected to be implemented along the To Lich River, passing through 12 wards of Hanoi including: Ngoc Ha, Nghia Do, Lang, Giang Vo, Cau Giay, Yen Hoa, Thanh Xuan, Dong Da, Khuong Dinh, Dinh Cong, Thanh Liet, Hoang Liet. The estimated land use area is about 737,927.6 m².

The main investment items include: Sidewalk system, riverside promenade; square, steps, steps, ramps; tree pot system, playground, sports field, parking lot; pedestrian-only roads; service works, architectural highlights and auxiliary works; trees, utility equipment, urban lighting, etc.

The project aims to upgrade the landscape on both sides of the To Lich River to reflect the regional identity, meet the needs of recreation, entertainment, relaxation, and community activities of the people and promote the development of culture, trade, services, and tourism in the project area in particular and Hanoi Capital in general, contributing to environmental protection towards sustainable development, effectively exploiting the potential and advantages of location and land fund of the project area.

To Lich River - a long-standing cultural and historical symbol of Hanoi Capital. The project to renovate, embellish and rebuild the park on both sides of To Lich River is an important part of the journey of "reviving the historical flow" of Hanoi. The project not only contributes to building a civilized and modern capital, but also symbolizes the political determination and strong participation of the Party Committee, government and the whole society in improving the living environment and improving the quality of people's lives...

In recent times, the To Lich River has changed a lot after being supplemented with water from West Lake and receiving treated water from Yen Xa Wastewater Treatment Plant. The river has taken on a new look, the quality of the river water has improved a lot, the stench has also decreased a lot and the landscape on both sides of the river is also being renovated to be greener and cleaner, attracting the attention of many people.
