The Provincial People's Committee has just submitted a document to the Provincial People's Council to approve a resolution on approving the investment policy for the Project to build a coastal road connecting Ben Tre province with Tien Giang and Tra Vinh provinces (now Vinh Long and Dong Thap provinces).
The total length of the project is 25.2km, of which the road section is 20.6km of level III plain road, the bridge section is about 4.6km (including: Ham Luong 2 bridge and 7 small bridges). The project belongs to group A, with a total investment of more than 7,900 billion VND.
Capital structure from loans to support sustainable development of the Mekong Delta region to adapt to climate change (Korean ODA loans under the mechanism of the central budget providing 90%, Vinh Long province re-borrowing 10%) and counterpart capital from the local budget.
According to the Provincial People's Committee, the project gradually completes the coastal road system of the province in particular and the Mekong Delta region in general, contributing to the development of the province's transport infrastructure in an inter-regional direction, enhancing the ability to transport and circulate goods and economic trade with the Mekong Delta provinces.
