Luong Son district completes the program "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" phase 2024 - 2025

Leaders of Luong Son district awarded certificates of merit and recognition plaques to 5 groups and 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in the movement "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" in the district.

After more than 1 year of drastic implementation, Luong Son district has supported the construction and repair of 125 houses for poor households, near-poor households, and policy families. Of these, 74 houses were newly built, 51 houses were repaired, completing 100% of the houses compared to the set plan. The total implementation cost was more than 5.5 billion VND from the Fund for the Poor at the provincial and district levels and contributions from officials, civil servants, armed forces, and businesses and philanthropists inside and outside the district. Luong Son district alone mobilized more than 3.7 billion VND from agencies, units, businesses and people. Notably, the support of businesses was more than 2.2 billion VND. In addition, organizations, armed forces, and local people have helped with thousands of working days and construction and technical materials.

Luong Son district is one of the first three localities in the province to complete the goal of eliminating all temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households as planned. This result demonstrates the spirit of great solidarity, the concretization of the policy of "leaving no one behind", contributing to improving the quality of life and strengthening people's trust in the Party Committee and government.

Speaking at the conference, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council praised the determination and proactiveness of the Party Committee, government and people of Luong Son district. He suggested that the district continue to promote the role of the Fatherland Front and socio -political organizations at the grassroots level to create a widespread movement in the community; mobilize businesses and philanthropists to participate in flexible and transparent support; spread good models and effective methods to raise awareness, responsibility and affection in society. Pay attention to the maintenance and repair of houses that have been built for long-term use. In particular, it is necessary to link the work of eliminating temporary houses with programs to support livelihoods, create jobs, increase income, and help people have the opportunity to escape poverty sustainably.
