Phu Giao District: Disseminating environmental laws to people

The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Phu Giao district in coordination with the People's Committee of Tan Hiep commune has just organized a conference to disseminate and popularize laws on environmental protection. Attending were more than 90 delegates representing departments, branches, unions, hamlets and organizations and individuals producing and trading in the commune. Accordingly, delegates were informed of the provisions of the Law on Environmental Protection 2020 and Decree 05/2025/ND-CP of the Government, focusing on the content of waste classification at source, hazardous waste treatment and environmental protection responsibilities of each organization and individual.

Statistics show that in 2024, Phu Giao district generated an average of 79.3 tons of household waste per day, of which nearly half was treated on-site by local residents, the rest was collected and treated centrally. Tan Hiep commune is considered a bright spot in the district as it has established many models of self-treatment of household waste, thereby significantly reducing the amount of waste that needs to be collected and contributing to building a commune that meets the standards of a model new rural area.
