Promoting agricultural advantages and the spirit of daring to think and dare to do of the people, Ia Krel commune focuses on improving the quality and building brands for typical products to increase their value.

Up to now, Ia Krel commune has 16 OCOP products, including 1 4-star product and 15 3-star products.

Ia Krêl's OCOP products are quite diverse such as: dried beef, Broong one-sun-dried pork, salted pork leg, salted chicken, coffee, winter melon tea, salted roasted cashews, original-flavored dried cashews, coin cakes mixed with nutritious seeds, dried bamboo shoots...

Among the OCOP subjects of Ia Krel commune, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thanh (business household in Lam Tok village) is the one who has been involved in cashew processing for many years.

After a period of working in Dong Nai province, he moved to Ia Krell commune to open a production facility and develop 3 3-star OCOP products: Thuan Thanh Phat salted roasted cashews, Thuan Thanh Phat original dried cashews and Thuan Thanh Phat mixed nutritious seed coin cakes.

It is worth noting that Mr. Thanh also directly manages the booth displaying and selling OCOP products of Duc Co district (old) in Ia Krel commune. Here, he not only introduces his family's products but also helps promote them to other households and cooperatives in the area.

“Having a common booth to promote products is very convenient. Customers know more and trust more. Since joining OCOP and having a display booth, product consumption has increased by about 15-20%, especially during Tet. Having a common display space helps local products reach customers easily, while creating an environment for learning and exchange between OCOP subjects,” said Mr. Thanh.

Similarly, Mr. Nguyen Van Han - Owner of Nguyen Han Coffee Farm is a typical representative of the 4-star OCOP product group. After 6 years of working with coffee, he invested in 6 hectares of his family and linked up with 10 hectares of farmers in the area to form a raw material area for semi-organic coffee production.

To achieve 4-star OCOP certification for Nguyen Han Coffee Farm ground coffee products, Mr. Han strictly applies the production process from picking ripe fruit, washing, drying on racks to processing to ensure food hygiene and safety.

Along with ground coffee, Mr. Han's facility also processes high-quality coffee beans for roasting and brewing businesses in and outside the province.

“Participating in OCOP helps me feel more confident when bringing products to the market because they are all certified and have clear origin. Thanks to that, sales volume has increased by about 30% compared to before. Consumers in big cities like Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City, etc. increasingly trust my OCOP products,” Mr. Han shared.

According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tu - Chairman of Ia Krel Commune People's Committee, the OCOP program has really entered people's lives, contributing to creating jobs, increasing income and affirming the local brand. Ia Krel Commune considers OCOP an important direction to increase the value of agricultural products.

The commune will continue to support entities to improve and upgrade OCOP products, implement traceability, and at the same time encourage the formation of production-consumption chains and link OCOP with agricultural experiential tourism.

In the coming time, Ia Krel commune plans to support the construction of e-commerce platforms, promote investment and expand the consumption of local OCOP products, thereby spreading the spirit of entrepreneurship and getting rich from local agricultural products.
