On October 13, the Indonesian Immigration Directorate announced that the government has approved new regulations on granting study visas, aiming to reduce administrative procedures for foreigners wishing to study in the country.
Accordingly, foreign citizens only need confirmation from the Ministry ofEducation of the country they are living in to apply for a study visa in Indonesia, instead of needing a letter of recommendation from other agencies as before.
Study visas are also available to best support foreign researchers who want to contribute to Indonesia's education sector.
