Being ranked high in Internet speed by Ookla shows significant improvements in the development of Vietnam's digital infrastructure.
In Decree 57 issued at the end of 2024, the Politburo clearly stated its guiding viewpoint on the need to develop infrastructure, especially digital infrastructure and digital technology, on the principle of "modernity, synchronization, security, safety, efficiency, and avoiding waste".
This guiding viewpoint has been turned into concrete action when recently, the National Assembly passed a Resolution on piloting a number of special policies and mechanisms to create breakthroughs in the development of science , technology, innovation and digital transformation.
The special feature of this Resolution is that the state budget will be used to support businesses in quickly deploying 5G network infrastructure nationwide.
In Directive No. 05/CT-TTg, the Prime Minister also assigned the Ministry of Science and Technology to promote 5G commercialization; research 6G technology; develop telecommunications satellites and upgrade national telecommunications backbone infrastructure.
Promote investment and development of high-speed fixed broadband infrastructure. This is one of the key tasks and breakthrough solutions to promote economic growth, ensuring the national growth target of 8% or more in 2025.
