The IDF said in a statement that it had “identified a group of terrorists in a suspicious vehicle after they carried out a shooting near the town of Jalamah” in the northern West Bank, a few kilometers from Jenin. The IDF believes the suspects are responsible for a number of recent shootings in Jewish settlements.

According to the Palestinian state news agency ( WAFA ), three people were killed in the attack. Videos circulating on the Internet showed a burned-out car near a refugee camp in the Palestinian city of Jenin.

Earlier, on June 19, the Israeli army also launched a raid on the town of Jalamah, killing 7 Palestinians and injuring more than 68 others. On the Israeli side, 7 soldiers were slightly injured when their armored vehicle hit a mine.

On the same day, AP quoted Mr. Mohammad Naji, mayor of Kafr Al-Dik city, saying that early in the morning of June 21, Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian houses in the town of Kafr Al-Dik, near the city of Salfit.

At the same time, an Israeli army unit raided the village of Orif, near the city of Nablus, entering several houses and arresting five Palestinians, WAFA said.

Responding to this situation, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated: “The attacks by Israeli settlers have destroyed many Palestinian properties without any reaction from the Israeli authorities. Egypt completely rejects acts of intimidation and collective punishment against the Palestinian people.”

The statement added that Egypt had previously warned of the dangers and consequences of Israel’s continued escalation, especially the latest escalation in the town of Jenin two days ago, which resulted in numerous Palestinian casualties. Cairo stressed that this cycle of violence must be stopped immediately to prevent bloodshed and to avoid a further deterioration of the security situation.

According to AP statistics, at least 130 Palestinians have been killed and hundreds more injured in attacks by the Israeli army and settlers since the beginning of 2023.
