The production team of the Korean movie “Revolver” directed by Oh Seung Wook recently released a series of images introducing the character Andy played by Ji Chang Wook.
“Revolver” is an action film that revolves around Soo Young, a former police officer who was imprisoned after being falsely accused of multiple crimes. Upon her release, she pursues a single goal in her life with unwavering determination.
Ji Chang Wook's character Andy, nicknamed "Mad Dog", is known for his erratic behavior, reckless living, and disregard for responsibility or promises. He makes decisions impulsively and causes chaos.
Andy once promised to compensate Soo Young for taking the blame for him, but he later broke his promise, leading to a final confrontation with Soo Young.
Released character photos show Andy's lavish appearance with expensive glasses and clothes, contrasting with his inner hysterical nature.
This fresh image is a never-before-seen side of Ji Chang Wook.
Explaining why he joined "Revolver," the actor shared, "I found the character Andy very interesting and felt like I could make him even more appealing. I was also excited about the unique perspective that director Oh Seung Wook could bring to the role."
To meticulously prepare for the character, Ji Chang Wook worked closely with director Oh, focusing on understanding the nuances between Andy's past and present. He experimented with various outfits to highlight Andy's distinct personality.
Director Oh Seung Wook expressed his satisfaction with Ji Chang Wook's acting, saying, "He perfectly portrayed a complex character, like a sick emperor."
"Cannes Best Actress" Jeon Do Yeon also praised Ji Chang Wook: "He helped me act more boldly." This sharing increases expectations for the strong performance and interaction between the actors.
“Revolver” is scheduled to hit theaters in South Korea in early August.
