SCNC is an annual conference that provides an opportunity for young conservationists to present and share research topics during their studies and work.

This year, SCNC attracted nearly 40 studies from provinces and cities across the country with diverse perspectives on nature conservation issues in Vietnam.

After the review process, a total of 14 topics were selected, including: 6 oral topics and 8 poster presentations within the framework of 5 main topics, including: social science applications (community awareness, behavior change, social media, etc.); science and technology applications; biodiversity monitoring (ecological surveys, biological populations, etc.); prevention of illegal wildlife trade (market surveys, consumption habits, law enforcement, etc.); diseases transmitted from animals to humans.

Five topics representing hot and noteworthy conservation issues in Vietnam promise to bring a lively discussion atmosphere with experts on nature conservation in Vietnam.

In addition, SCNC 2023 has the participation of experts and units operating in the conservation industry such as: Institute of Natural Resources and Environment - Vietnam National University, Hanoi VNU (VNU-CRES), Zoological Society (FZS), Wild Hand Club - Vietnam National University of Agriculture , Charity & Environment Club - RMIT University (CEC) and Young Conservationists Club YCC - Hanoi Forestry University (YCC)...

This will be an opportunity for graduate students and young conservationists to learn about conservation programs in Vietnam as well as open up career opportunities, expand knowledge, and create a strong network of connections between young conservationists in particular and the conservation industry in general.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang - Director of WildAct, shared: “SCNC 2023 is a promising conference, with topics with diverse and profound perspectives on nature conservation issues taking place in Vietnam.

Above all, this year’s SCNC conference has received attention not only from students and young conservationists in the country but also from international students and young conservationists working and researching internationally. This is a positive sign for the future of the conservation community in Vietnam.

Hopefully SCNC will be an opportunity to create a learning and connecting environment between communities working in the field of conservation in Vietnam, thereby creating a bright future for the young generation of conservationists."
