Transportation leads the way, creating momentum for development.

Kha Son commune was established by merging the entire area and population of five communes: Kha Son, Luong Phu, Duong Thanh, Tan Duc, and Thanh Ninh. With a total area of over 37.8 square kilometers and a population of more than 41,200 people, comprising 69 hamlets, the new Kha Son commune has a larger development space, opening up many opportunities for socio -economic development.

In the construction of new rural areas, transportation is identified by Kha Son commune as one of the key criteria, creating momentum to promote production, goods circulation, and improve people's lives. In recent years, the rural transportation system in the commune has received investment in a synchronized manner, gradually meeting development requirements.

In Viet Ninh hamlet, one of the model new rural hamlets in the commune, the internal and inter-hamlet road systems have been paved with asphalt and concrete, creating a modern and well-maintained infrastructure. During the implementation of these transportation projects, under the mobilization of the Fatherland Front Committee, the people unanimously donated over 4,000 square meters of land and contributed over 2 billion VND to carry out the new rural development projects.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Head of Viet Ninh Hamlet, said: Before 2015, the percentage of concrete roads in the hamlet was only about 60%. From 2020 to the present, 100% of the roads in the hamlet have been paved, and many routes have been upgraded and widened, creating favorable conditions for trade and regional connectivity. As a result, the economic lives of the people have improved significantly.

To improve transportation infrastructure, in 2025, using funds from investment programs, Kha Son commune implemented 37 rural transportation projects. Along with state resources, the commune intensified propaganda and mobilization efforts to encourage people to voluntarily donate land, clear the site, and contribute matching funds.

As a result, over 1,280 households donated more than 65,753 square meters of land, contributing to the upgrading of 57.14 km of roads, 12.9 km of canals, and the construction of 10 village cultural centers, with a total cost of over 66 billion VND.

To date, the system of inter-regional, inter-commune, and intra-commune and intra-hamlet roads has been basically completed. The appearance of the advanced new rural communes is becoming increasingly spacious and modern, creating an important foundation for sustainable socio-economic development in the next phase.

Focus on economic development and income improvement.

The commune currently has many farm and household-based economic models, contributing to job creation and increased income for the people.

Along with infrastructure investment, creating jobs, increasing income, and achieving sustainable poverty reduction are key priorities for Kha Son commune in building new rural areas. Using funds from national target programs, the commune continues to maintain and expand production support models, encouraging people to develop livestock farming in the form of farms and family farms, tailored to the specific conditions of each locality.

The family of Ms. Thieu Thi Thanh Tam in Viet Ninh hamlet has been involved in the chicken breeding business for over 4 years. Currently, the family maintains a regular stock of approximately 2,000 hens and 100 roosters. On average, they sell 7 batches of chicks per month, each batch consisting of 4,000-5,000 chicks, providing a stable source of income.

Ms. Tam said: "Farming requires strict adherence to vaccination procedures, especially for breeding chickens before sale. Recognizing the advantages of our hillside land and market demand, my family boldly shifted our production focus. Now, our finances are more stable, and we have the means to provide for our children's education."

Alongside economic development, Kha Son commune focuses on implementing cultural criteria, investing in infrastructure, and preserving traditional values. The commune currently has 18 classified historical sites, including two national-level sites: Dong Temple and the Kha Son historical complex, comprising many typical historical and religious structures.

In addition, the commune has 16 provincial-level ranked historical sites. The system of communal houses, temples, and pagodas is regularly maintained and protected, meeting the cultural and spiritual needs of the people.

The movement for national unity in building a cultured way of life has been widely implemented, creating a vibrant atmosphere of competition within the community. Ms. Nguyen Thi Chuyen from Viet Ninh hamlet said: "Building on the traditions of our homeland, a safe zone of the revolution, the people in the commune maintain traditional festivals and preserve cultural identity. Cultural and sports activities take place regularly, contributing to a cheerful atmosphere and strengthening the spirit of unity in the hamlets."

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of the entire political system, the appearance of Kha Son commune has undergone significant changes. The poverty rate has now decreased to below 1.1%, and the average income has reached over 64 million VND/person/year. Before the merger, 100% of the communes met the standards for New Rural Development, with 3 out of 5 communes achieving advanced New Rural Development standards.

The area currently has 4 industrial clusters with a total area of over 160 hectares. The commune has received investment in the Ring Road 5 connecting the Capital region and Noi Bai Airport, opening up new opportunities for development.

Mr. Duong Dinh Duy, Chief of the Office of the People's Council and People's Committee of Kha Son commune, said: The commune strives to achieve advanced new rural standards by 2030. To achieve this goal, the locality focuses on completing a synchronous infrastructure system, promoting the shift in economic structure towards industry and services, building e-government and a digital society, and attracting investment to create more jobs and increase income for the people. The commune identifies the people as the main subjects and the center of the process of building advanced and model new rural areas.

With increasingly improved infrastructure, a gradually developing economy, and significantly improved living standards, Kha Son is facing many opportunities for breakthroughs. Leveraging the advantages after the merger, coupled with strong political determination and the consensus of the people, Kha Son commune aims to complete the construction of an advanced new rural area by 2030, gradually forming a prosperous, civilized, and livable countryside.
