According to the report of the General Statistics Office ( Ministry of Finance ), in April 2025, Vietnam welcomed about 1.65 million international visitors, down 19.5% compared to March but up 6.3% compared to the same period last year. China was the market with the sharpest decrease, reaching only more than 368,000 arrivals, down nearly 263,000 arrivals (equivalent to 42%) compared to the previous month. South Korea also recorded a significant decrease, reaching only 326,140 arrivals, down about 48,000 arrivals compared to March and equal to 88.6% compared to the same period in 2024.

In the first four months of the year, Vietnam welcomed 7.67 million international visitors, up 23.8% over the same period last year. Of which, air travel dominated with 6.59 million arrivals, accounting for 85.9% and up 27%; road travel reached 924,900 arrivals (accounting for 12%, up 7.9%); sea travel reached 158,300 arrivals (accounting for 2.1%, up 4.5%).
China is the largest market with more than 1.95 million visitors in 4 months, up more than 56% over the same period; followed by South Korea with nearly 1.6 million and Taiwan (China) with 440,214. Notably, the number of Russian visitors reached 166,460, more than double that of the same period in 2024 and equal to more than 70% of the total number of visitors for the whole year of 2024 - the highest growth rate among key visitor markets. Visitors from the Philippines also increased sharply, reaching 135,951, equal to 198.3% over the same period last year.
