The project is implemented in two districts U Minh and Tran Van Thoi, with many components including: construction of breakwaters, landslide prevention, beach building and sea dyke protection with a breakwater length of 7,000m, with centrifugal piles; planting nearly 55ha of various types of forests. The remaining components include: livelihood development; training, capacity building; monitoring and evaluation; project management.
Total investment capital is more than 230 billion VND, using ODA capital from the German Reconstruction Bank (KfW) and counterpart capital from the locality.
According to the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, the project aims to minimize the negative impacts of climate change and rising sea levels, while protecting coastal areas effectively and sustainably, contributing to stabilizing the lives and livelihoods of people in the project area.
