Opening of the 2025 Dien Bien Province Ethnic Minority Sports Festival

On the morning of October 23, 2025, at the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism solemnly held the Opening Ceremony of the 2025 Dien Bien Province Ethnic Minority Sports Festival.

Attending the opening ceremony were Comrade Vu A Bang - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Comrade Nguyen Minh Phu - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest, along with representatives of leaders of departments, branches, sectors, and mass organizations of the province; leaders of communes, wards and a large number of cadres, coaches, and athletes of the delegations attending.

The contest was organized to celebrate the major holidays of the country and the province; to welcome the success of the 15th Congress of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party; at the same time, to continue promoting the Campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" and the movement "Healthy to build and protect the Fatherland".

The competition took place over 3 days (from October 23 to 25, 2025) with the participation of over 500 athletes, competing in 34 events of 8 ethnic sports, including: Tung con, Crossbow shooting, Stick pushing, Tu lu, To sang, To ma le, Gia banh day and Tug of war.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hiep - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism , Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee emphasized: The contest is an important occasion to preserve and promote the traditional cultural and sports values ​​of ethnic minorities; at the same time, create a vibrant competitive atmosphere, strengthen the spirit of solidarity, exchange and learning between localities, contributing to building a healthy and progressive cultural life in the community.

Right after the Opening Ceremony, the competitions took place in an exciting and attractive manner, attracting a large number of officials and people to cheer and participate. The competition promises to bring many dramatic matches, demonstrating the honest, united and noble sportsmanship of the athletes, contributing to spreading the movement of physical training following the example of great Uncle Ho throughout the province.
