An Khanh Commune opened the 1st Sports Festival

On October 26, An Khanh commune held the opening ceremony of the 1st Sports Festival - 2025.

At the ceremony, there were 55 groups: National flag, sports flag, Uncle Ho's palanquin, red flag and more than 1,500 cadres, soldiers, civil servants, public employees, union members, workers, and outstanding athletes in the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" in An Khanh commune participating in the parade to show off their strength.

The traditional flame was lit by 3 typical athletes of the commune, including: Nguyen Ngoc Diep - a student of Van Con Secondary School, a Taekwondo athlete, won the Gold Medal at the National Championship in 2025, the Gold Medal at the Hanoi Open Tournament in 2024; Nguyen Nhu Hai Anh - a student of An Thuong B Secondary School, a Taekwondo athlete, won the Bronze Medal at the National Club Championship in 2025, the Silver Medal at the Vinh Phuc Provincial Federation Open Cup in 2025; Nguyen Thi Huyen - a student of Van Con Secondary School, a Taekwondo athlete, won the Bronze Medal at the Hanoi Open Taekwondo Tournament in 2025, the Silver Medal at the Hanoi City Summer Tournament in 2024, who together lit the flame from the commune's tradition room to the Congress - the traditional flame symbolizing the spirit of "Solidarity - Courage - Wisdom - Eternity".

Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Chairman of the People's Committee of An Khanh Commune, Ho Trung Nghia, emphasized that over the years, the Party Committee, government and people of An Khanh have always identified the development of physical training and sports as actively contributing to the implementation of tasks of socio -economic development, security and defense, improving health, training will, educating ethics, personality, lifestyle, improving the cultural and spiritual life of the people, especially caring for, nurturing and focusing on training the young generation.

The commune pays attention to investing in the development of the physical education and sports movement, the number of households and people who regularly practice physical education and sports increases steadily every year. The whole commune currently has more than 50 effective physical education and sports clubs. The physical education and sports festival is also an important occasion to demonstrate strength, thereby reviving the proud historical tradition of the homeland and promoting and introducing the land, culture and people of An Khanh.

The leaders of An Khanh commune hope that with the spirit of martial arts, solidarity, honesty, the referees and athletes will strictly comply with the rules and regulations of the Organizing Committee, maintain discipline in competition, and compete to achieve many high achievements in the congress. The youth, teenagers and children of the commune will continue to study, cultivate, "train morality, train talent, and be creative", firmly promote the achieved results, promote the movement "All people exercise their bodies following the example of great Uncle Ho" associated with the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life", making the physical training and sports movement of each unit, each agency and of the commune increasingly develop and grow stronger.

The first An Khanh Commune Sports Festival took place with 10 competitions, attracting a large number of athletes from 38 villages and residential groups to participate. The Organizing Committee awarded prizes to groups and individuals with outstanding achievements in building and developing the local sports movement.
