Opening of King Le Thai To Temple Festival 2025

Attending the Festival were comrade: Giang Pao My - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, unions, armed forces of the province; District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, departments and offices of Nam Nhun district; leaders of districts and cities in the province and a large number of people from communes, towns, and tourists.

Before the opening of the Festival, delegates, people and tourists held a ceremony at the Temple (Watchtower) to ask for the procession of King Le Thai To to the main Temple; carry the palanquin of King Le Thai To from the Temple to the main Temple of King Le Thai To and offer incense at the Temple of King Le Thai To to express their respect and commemorate the great contributions to the heroic King of the Vietnamese people.

The navy simulated the time when King Le Thai To advanced to liberate the Northwestern border region in the past.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, Comrade Tong Thanh Hai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Festival Organizing Committee affirmed: This is an important cultural event, an opportunity to commemorate and pay tribute to the great contributions of National Hero Le Loi, who led the Lam Son uprising (1418-1427). The festival is not only an important cultural event of Lai Chau province but also an opportunity to arouse national pride, educate the tradition of patriotism, and gratitude to ancestors. It is an opportunity to strengthen the spirit of solidarity and cohesion among ethnic groups in the area. Promote tourism potential, promote local socio -economic development.

Le Loi Stele has special value in terms of history, political culture with the National Treasure Le Loi Stele. Maintaining the organization of the King Le Thai To Temple Festival in the early spring of the new year attracts the attention of the people and tourists, the number of tourists coming to Nam Nhun increases every year. Specifically, in 2024, it will attract 17,808 visitors, an increase of more than 3,400 visitors compared to 2023, with total revenue from tourism activities estimated at 1.3 billion VND.

The festival is held not only as a place for Lai Chau people to remember the national hero but also as one of the spiritual and cultural activities of the local people and visitors from all over. During the ceremony, the people of Le Loi commune performed the incense offering at the Temple and carried the statue of King Le Thai To to the main Temple area; performed the ritual of offering offerings and giving blessings to the people coming to the festival on the occasion of the beginning of the new spring. During the festival, people will participate in sports activities and folk games such as: traditional boat racing, cooking competitions, playing folk games...

At the Opening Ceremony, delegates, people and tourists reviewed the origin of the national treasure Le Loi Stele, the formation process of the national relic complex "King Le Thai To Temple Memorial Site"; watched the sacrificial team perform the sacrificial ceremony and thank King Le Thai To.
