Mr. Tran Van Thao, a member of the Hai Ha District Fisheries Union, shared: We see that the presence of production teams and each fisherman on the open sea has contributed to affirming the sovereignty of the sea and the sovereignty of their fishing grounds. That is also one of the first responsibilities of us who work in the sea, and when we join the Hai Ha District Fisheries Union, we have had the opportunity to promote it. The second thing that is very necessary for us is that when we join the union, we operate more safely and effectively, bringing in greater economic value.

It can be seen that most of all, the members of the Hai Ha District Fisheries Union are people with professions, love the sea, and are determined to stick with the sea. The scope of activities of the Union members is mainly in the fishing grounds of the Gulf of Tonkin. They regularly keep in touch with each other using specialized electronic or positioning devices, grasping each other's activities, thereby being able to promptly support each other when necessary.

Mr. Pham Van Manh, a member of the Hai Ha District Fisheries Union, said: It is as simple as when a member vessel has an engine problem, we will identify which vessel is near that area and then come to support with equipment and crew to repair or tow the vessel to a safe place. The brothers in the Union also share their experiences in fishing at certain locations and times so that the following vessels can refer to how to do it, in order to achieve the highest exploitation efficiency...

Through solidarity, mutual learning, and promoting personal professional experience, the Hai Ha District Fisheries Union operates effectively. In 2024, the union's output will reach nearly 500 tons of various aquatic products. Particularly, the union's large offshore fishing vessels (over 25m in length) bring in 20-30 tons of fish and shrimp per trip, bringing in large income for the ship owner and crew members.

Currently, the Hai Ha District Fisheries Union is actively propagating and guiding members to properly implement regulations on fishing, especially preventing illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing (IUU), contributing to the province gradually removing the EU's yellow card. Most recently, the Hai Ha District Fisheries Union continues to coordinate and mobilize members to participate in basic and advanced training courses for captains and chief engineers, courses to improve knowledge on sea and island sovereignty, and training sessions on accessing modern fishing technology associated with environmental protection and marine resources...
