Inauguration of the restoration project of the Central Office of Southern Vietnam relic site in Tay Ninh

Delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate the project to restore and embellish a number of items in the special national historical relic site of the Southern Central Bureau Base.

In the joyful atmosphere of the whole country towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), on the morning of April 19, Tay Ninh province solemnly held the inauguration ceremony of the Project to restore and embellish a number of items and works belonging to the special national historical relic site of the Southern Central Bureau Base (Tan Lap commune, Tan Bien district, Tay Ninh province).

Attending the ceremony were Politburo member, Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang; Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Commission Nguyen Thanh Tam; Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Tay Ninh province Nguyen Manh Hung; Deputy Minister of Justice Nguyen Thanh Ngoc; Acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Tay Ninh province Nguyen Hong Thanh, along with leaders of departments, branches, and professional agencies under the Ministry of Public Security, and Public Security of some southern provinces and cities.

The special national historical site of the Southern Central Bureau Base is a project of great cultural and historical significance not only for Tay Ninh province but also a priceless spiritual asset of the nation. This place has become a destination for cultural activities of the community, a red address for traditionaleducation for the younger generation, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.

This restoration and embellishment project is one of the two key projects of the province to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification and the Liberation of Tay Ninh Province. At the same time, this is also one of 80 key projects and works selected by the Government and the Prime Minister to be inaugurated or commenced simultaneously on the occasion of the great celebration.

Speaking at the ceremony, Acting Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Thanh affirmed that the project was completed on schedule within 6 months as planned, ensuring quality, aesthetics and application of modern technology. The project was renovated and upgraded with many important items, installed modern digital equipment, and screened documentary films using 3D mapping technology, contributing to improving the effectiveness of propaganda, education of revolutionary traditions and the experience of tourists.

The Southern Central Bureau Base – the “capital” of the Southern revolution during the resistance war against the US – was once the place where strategic decisions of the Party Central Committee and President Ho Chi Minh took place, where many senior leaders and tens of thousands of cadres and soldiers lived and fought heroically for the cause of national liberation. With such special historical values, on May 10, 2012, the Prime Minister signed a decision to rank this place as a special national monument.

According to the provincial leaders, in order for the project to continue to be effective after being put into use, there needs to be close coordination between the Management Board of the Southern Revolutionary Historical Relic Sites and the relevant agencies in developing exploitation plans, improving service quality, digitizing documents and connecting tourism development - culture - traditional education. At the same time, calling on the people and tourists to join hands to preserve and protect the relic - as a sacred symbol of history, the pride and responsibility of every Vietnamese citizen.

“With pride and responsibility, we are determined to turn the Central Office of the Southern Region’s special national historical site into a favorite destination for the people of the whole country in general and Tay Ninh in particular; a red address for educating revolutionary traditions for the young generation today and tomorrow,” emphasized Acting Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Hong Thanh.
