Attending the ceremony were Mr. Bui Manh Phuc - Chairman of the City Red Cross Society, Ms. Pham Thi Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Society, and representatives of local authorities, departments and organizations.
Mr. Trinh Van Chuong's family is near-poor and is currently facing many difficulties in life. The family has 9 members of 3 generations living together, including two elderly grandparents who are often sick; two orphaned grandchildren whose parents got married; the second son and his wife with two young children; and a divorced daughter. The whole family lives in a three-room house of about 45 square meters, built nearly 30 years ago and temporarily repaired in 2019 due to serious deterioration. However, the small area makes the living space increasingly cramped, especially not meeting the resting needs of the elderly and the learning needs of young children. Currently, the grandparents do not have a stable income, the children work as workers with low income, the daughter-in-law is unemployed and stays at home to take care of the young children.
Faced with the difficult circumstances of Mr. Trinh Van Chuong's family, the City Red Cross mobilized social resources to support the construction of a new house. Of which, the City Labor Federation supported 50 million VND; the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Duong Kinh district supported 20 million VND; the remaining nearly 200 million VND was contributed and saved by the family, relatives and children over many years. After two months of construction, the new house with an area of 47 square meters, a corrugated iron roof, including 2 bedrooms, 1 living room and 1 kitchen, with a total cost of more than 300 million VND was completed and handed over.
Receiving the spacious Red Cross house, Mr. Chuong's family expressed their joy, excitement and peace of mind in life, especially before the upcoming storm season. This is an important condition for the family to stabilize their lives, develop the economy and raise their children, contributing to the development of the locality.
Also in the morning of the same day, the Standing Committee of the City Red Cross Society directly surveyed 3 households in difficult circumstances in Kien Thuy district, in order to implement livelihood support activities through the donation of breeding animals such as geese, chickens, ducks, etc.
This is a practical activity in the Humanitarian Month of 2025, contributing to helping people have conditions to develop their household economy, gradually escape poverty, and move towards sustainable humanitarian goals./.
