At 6:00 a.m. this morning (July 26), the road leading to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway was "locked", forcing vehicles to turn around, leading to serious congestion at the An Phu intersection; especially the road leading to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, causing thousands of vehicles to be "stuck" for a long time.

According to records from 6:30 a.m., traffic congestion began from Mai Chi Tho Street, extending through An Phu Roundabout and spreading to neighboring roads such as Nguyen Thi Dinh, Vo Chi Cong and the highway parallel route. At around 8 a.m., the traffic jam reached its peak, with many vehicles only able to move a few meters after 10-15 minutes.
Trucks, containers, and cars crowded the road leading to the highway, while motorbikes weaved helplessly through the dense traffic, some were forced to climb onto the sidewalk or encroach on the grassy lanes along the roadside to find a way out. The traffic congestion and jams caused chaos and disorder, especially at the An Phu roundabout area.

Container truck driver Nguyen Van Hung said: "I entered this route at nearly 7am and by 8am I still hadn't reached the highway. Traffic jams here are now a daily occurrence, especially on Fridays and weekends when they are terrible."
Traffic police were present early at "hot spots" to direct traffic and regulate traffic, but the traffic pressure was so great that handling it was difficult.
The main cause of the traffic jam this morning continues to be the ban on motorbikes on the highway access road (An Phu - Vo Chi Cong section), along with infrastructure projects such as the An Phu underpass and the highway access road expansion project under construction, causing the road surface area to narrow and traffic capacity to be limited.

SGGP Newspaper reporters contacted Vietnam Expressway Engineering Services Joint Stock Company (VEC E), the management unit of the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, about the reason for banning vehicles from entering the expressway from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai , but received no response.

The Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway has just completed the repair of the expansion joint of Long Thanh Bridge yesterday and traffic has returned to normal. Previously, the repair caused serious congestion for more than 10 days, especially on weekends, greatly affecting travel and freight transport in this area.
