Project launch and sensory quality assessment of Minh Huong duck

Delegates evaluate the sensory quality of Minh Huong duck products.

Minh Huong duck is a native duck breed that has existed for a long time in Minh Huong commune. The duck breed is raised naturally from the stream water of Cham Chu special-use forest and eats natural food sources from rivers and streams, so the meat is delicious and characteristic, favored by consumers in many localities. In recent years, the number of Minh Huong ducks raised has increased in Minh Huong commune and communes with suitable conditions such as: Binh Xa, Tan Thanh, Phu Luu, Nhan Muc, Bang Coc, Yen Thuan, ... with a total herd of 115,000 ducks, with an output of over 200 tons of commercial ducks.

At the conference, delegates were informed about the Minh Huong Geographical Indication Protection Project for the product of Balut duck of Ham Yen district, Tuyen Quang province; introduced the method of sensory quality assessment; and assessed the sensory quality of Minh Huong Balut duck.

Delegates also exchanged and discussed about livestock support, product consumption linkage; increasing the value of duck products; developing and building the Minh Huong duck brand...

The conference is the basis for Ham Yen district to continue to develop and create high-quality Minh Huong duck products to meet market demand, increase value and income for farming households, maintain the brand and build the geographical indication "Minh Huong" for Minh Huong duck products.
