Implement the province's direction on speeding up the progress of development

In order to start the construction of the Quang Ninh LNG Power Plant project , on the afternoon of November 6, the leaders of Cua Ong ward worked with the investor, businesses and related units to remove some obstacles.

Leaders of Cua Ong ward, investors and businesses surveyed the actual road to the project.

After adjusting and supplementing the area, the Quang Ninh LNG Power Plant Project has a total area of ​​nearly 110 hectares in Cua Ong ward. The project is in the list of national key energy projects in the Government 's Power Plan VIII, with a scale of 2 units, a total capacity of 1,500 MW, with a total investment of over 2.2 billion USD invested by Quang Ninh LNG Power Joint Stock Company. With the support and facilitation of Quang Ninh province and Cua Ong ward, up to now, the investor has completed the ground leveling design, bidding documents for the general contractor for design, equipment procurement and construction, and submitted land lease documents.

Along with the area of ​​more than 1.7 hectares that had previously completed site clearance, in September 2025, Cua Ong Ward completed the site clearance of nearly 34 hectares and handed it over to the Investment and Construction Project Management Board of Region II to carry out the next steps of handing over to the project investor. For the area related to organizations, the ward is completing the procedures to recover land on schedule.

Leaders of Cua Ong ward, investors, businesses and units agreed on plans for electricity, water and traffic supply.

At the meeting, Cua Ong Ward and the investor, businesses, and related units discussed and exchanged plans for electricity, water, and traffic supply to serve the construction of the project's ground leveling phase. On that basis, the parties resolved and agreed on plans for electricity, water, and traffic supply. Cua Ong Ward also committed to actively coordinate and create the best, fastest, and earliest conditions for the investor to ensure that the project starts construction on December 19, 2025, according to the province's direction.

The Quang Ninh LNG Power Plant Project is one of the key projects using non-budgetary capital in the province. The commencement of the project in the first year of the 2025-2030 term contributes to the implementation of the energy transition task, prioritizing the development of renewable energy and new energy according to the Resolution of the 16th Provincial Party Congress.
