Graduating with a Bachelor of Laws degree, Nguyen Huu Nhon had many opportunities to continue his future with his major in Ho Chi Minh City - a bustling urban area. However, with his love for his hometown and the mindset of daring to do and taking responsibility, Nhon chose to return to Tra Tan to start a business.
“For me, returning is not simply returning to the old place, but starting a new journey. I know it will be very difficult, but I still want to fulfill my own desire, which is to turn low-value ponds into business opportunities for myself, thereby creating new values, new models for the community” – Nguyen Huu Nhon shared.

From that bold thought, in 2017, Nhon began to learn about raising black apple snails - a species that is easy to raise, requires little capital, has relatively simple techniques, and is suitable for local soil and climate conditions. He planned to renovate ponds, test water sources, select breeds, and gradually build a system of hatcheries and commercial farms.
Nhon also experienced many failures due to incorrect techniques. But instead of being discouraged, he considered it a valuable lesson to adjust and accumulate experience.
To date, Nhon has 3 snail farms in Duc Linh, Hoai Duc, Tra Tan communes with a total area of about 6 hectares. In parallel with snail farming, he has developed a processed product called “medicinal black apple snail patties” where apple snail meat is combined with clean ingredients such as cordyceps, lingzhi mushrooms, and peppermint essential oil.

Not only stopping at raising and processing snails, with the desire to create cultural values and experiences, his snail farm is also ready to open its doors to welcome guests, students, youth union members from all over to visit and learn about the raising and processing process.
From this model, more than 40 young people in the area have been provided with stable jobs. Many households have benefited from satellite connections, being able to purchase commercial snails and seeds under contracts, with stable output.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Tam, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tra Tan Commune, Secretary of the Youth Union of Tra Tan Commune, said that Mr. Nhon is not only an economic person with a start-up model suitable to the characteristics and advantages of the locality, but he is also a young man who always accompanies and is enthusiastic in union activities and patriotic emulation movements in Tra Tan. He is also very active in supporting poor students, especially poor students who love to study, regularly contributing funds to build children's playgrounds and community activity points. These actions demonstrate the affection and responsibility of youth union members, thereby continuing to connect and create the spread of new and good values in the locality.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Nhon said that this economic model is well received by the market, the selling price is stable, bringing significant profits. He is also preparing to expand the farm, and will soon invest in modern equipment, cold storage, and processing plants to increase productivity and meet the increasing demand.

It is known that with his contributions and created values, Mr. Nguyen Huu Nhon has become a familiar face in events and emulation movements, and has been recognized and rewarded many times by all levels and sectors.
In 2022, he was awarded the "Luong Dinh Cua" Award by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. In 2023, he was commended by the Provincial People's Committee for his outstanding performance in studying and doing business; was recognized by the Central Committee of the Youth Union with the title "Advanced Youth following Uncle Ho's teachings" nationwide; won first prize in the 4th Provincial "Startup Ideas and Projects" Contest in 2023.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Nhon is also one of the typical young people in the list of commendations at the Congress at the 1st Lam Dong Provincial Patriotic Emulation Congress, period 2025 - 2030 taking place at the end of September 2025...
