Prosecuted 2 company directors for tax evasion, causing damage to the state budget of more than 1.5 billion VND

According to the initial investigation results, from May 3, 2024 to June 13, 2024, defendant Nguyen Vuong Hoai (born in 1983, residing in G01A, Nguyen Dinh Chieu residential area, Ward 5, Duc Nhuan Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) is the Director of Dong Duong Import-Export Investment Joint Stock Company (address: Pearl Plaza building, 561A Dien Bien Phu, Thanh My Tay Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) bought 16 VAT invoices without accompanying goods and services from Delta Investment and Trading Development Company Limited (address: 43A Yet Kieu, Long Xuyen Ward, An Giang Province) with an amount excluding tax of VND 13,058,760,000, VAT of VND 1,305,876,000, total payment of VND 14,364,636,000 to legalize. Sand source purchased without invoices and documents sold to other companies for illegal profits.

Hoai used 14 illegal value-added tax invoices to declare tax deductions. The expert agency's appraisal conclusion determined that the amount of value-added tax paid by Dong Duong Import-Export Investment Joint Stock Company caused a loss of VND 1,178,892,000 to the state budget.

Regarding the defendant Huynh Huu Thuan, born in 1983 (residing at 885/1, Binh Cang 1 Hamlet, Thu Thua Commune, Tay Ninh Province), Director of Thuan Hung Construction Trading and Service Company Limited (address 85/1, Binh Cang 1 Hamlet, Thu Thua Commune, Tay Ninh Province), from January 23, 2024 to May 30, 2024, Mr. Huynh Huu Thuan purchased 13 value-added tax invoices from Delta Investment and Development Trading and Service Company Limited and 5 value-added tax invoices from Cat Chu Construction and Trading Company Limited (address 345, Binh Hoa Hamlet, Tan Tru Commune, Tay Ninh Province), all without accompanying goods and services, with an amount excluding tax of VND 3,398,320,203, value-added tax of VND 339,693,131, total payment amount 3,738,013,334 VND to legalize sand purchased without invoices and documents to sell to other companies for illegal profits.

Thuan used 18 illegal invoices on tax deduction declarations. The appraisal conclusion determined that the amount of value added tax due to Thuan Hung Construction Trading Service Company Limited caused a loss to the state budget of VND 327,560,795.

The Provincial Police Investigation Agency is continuing to investigate, clarify violations, and handle them according to the provisions of law.
