Due to the influence of the cold air mass, the weather in Northern Vietnam and North Central Vietnam remains cold, with some mountainous areas in Northern Vietnam experiencing severe cold. The lowest temperatures during this cold spell in Northern Vietnam are generally between 15-17 degrees Celsius, 12-14 degrees Celsius in high mountainous areas, and below 11 degrees Celsius in some places; in North Central Vietnam, temperatures are 15-18 degrees Celsius.

According to experts, due to a weak intensification of the cold air mass combined with a strong westerly jet stream at high altitudes, light rain, drizzle, and fog quickly reappeared afterwards.

Specifically, from tonight until February 15th, Northern Vietnam will experience scattered rain, with fog and light mist in the early mornings; from the night of February 14th and throughout February 15th, the northeastern part of Northern Vietnam and the areas of Lao Cai, Yen Bai , southern Son La, and Hoa Binh will have light rain, drizzle, and scattered fog during the night and morning. The weather will be cold, with some mountainous areas in Northern Vietnam experiencing severe cold.

Due to a low-pressure trough connected to a tropical depression in the East Sea, the South Central, Central Highlands, and Southern regions are experiencing unseasonal rain, with localized heavy rain and intermittent sunshine.

Looking further ahead to the weather forecast from the night of February 15th to 23rd, the meteorological agency predicts scattered rain in the Northwest region of Northern Vietnam, with some areas experiencing fog in the early morning, followed by sunshine in the afternoon. The weather will be cold, with some areas experiencing severe cold.

Notably, the northeastern region of Vietnam, as well as the areas of Lao Cai, Yen Bai, southern Son La, and Hoa Binh, will continue to experience light rain, drizzle, and scattered fog during the night and morning. The weather will be cold, with some mountainous areas experiencing severe cold.

North Central Vietnam will experience scattered rain, with fog and light mist in the early morning, clearing up in the afternoon; however, there will be scattered rain from the night of February 15-16 and from February 21-22. It will be cold at night and in the morning.

Central Vietnam will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms in some areas; particularly from February 16-17 and February 21-22, there will be scattered rain. The northern areas will be cold at night and in the morning.

Other areas will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms; the South Central region will have scattered rain from February 16-17.

Additionally, this afternoon, a tropical depression is located over the western part of the Central East Sea with wind speeds of level 6 (39-49 km/h), gusting to level 8. It is forecast that by tomorrow afternoon, the tropical depression will weaken over the offshore waters from Quang Ngai to Phu Yen.
