Kinhtedothi - Hanoi People's Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 560/UBND-TTDT dated February 20 regarding inspection and handling of information reflecting on illegal construction material storage and transfer sites in Gia Lam district.
Accordingly, on February 18, the press reported that along the banks of the Duong River, through Phu Dong Commune (Gia Lam District, Hanoi), there were 3 transit sites illegally exploiting soil and sand, greatly affecting the lives of local people.
Regarding this matter, the Chairman of the City People's Committee assigned the Gia Lam District People's Committee to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to urgently inspect and clarify the reflected information and strictly handle it according to legal regulations; consider the responsibility of collectives and individuals according to Directive No. 24-CT/TU dated August 7, 2023 of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee "On strengthening discipline, discipline and responsibility for handling work in the city's political system" if violations occur; report to the City People's Committee on the implementation results.
According to press reports, just a few hundred meters along the Duong River (through Phu Dong Commune, Gia Lam District) there are 3 illegal sand and soil mining sites. All sites have been suspended, but to date, they are still operating despite the suspension order, greatly affecting the lives of local people.
Dozens of households in Phu Dong commune (Gia Lam district) expressed their anger at the situation of sand mining and soil excavation causing riverbank erosion, affecting people's crops.
The construction material transfer yard that has angered people is called Giang Linh Transfer Yard. At one point, workers at this sand yard dumped sand onto farmers' fields, causing conflicts and affecting security and order in the area...
