Check and immediately handle the encroachment of traffic safety corridors by brick kilns on the route Lo Gach

Accordingly, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Construction to coordinate with relevant agencies to inspect and immediately handle the situation of brick kilns encroaching on the traffic safety corridor on the route Lo Gach - Cau Nuoc Trong. At the same time, maintain and repair the road surface, lighting system, and drainage to ensure traffic safety on this route.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha also requested Long Thanh district to quickly complete work related to land use planning and construction planning to serve as a basis for accelerating investment progress in upgrading and expanding the road.

At the meeting, Long Duc Investment Company Limited said that the route of Lo Gach - Cau Nuoc Trong is the route leading to Long Duc Industrial Park. However, over the years, this route has been seriously degraded. Along with that, the encroachment of traffic safety corridors by brick kilns poses a great risk of traffic safety for people and vehicles traveling on the route, especially about 14 thousand workers working at enterprises in Long Duc Industrial Park.

On the side of the Department of Construction, this unit said that after receiving a request from Long Duc Investment Company Limited, the Department of Construction presided over and coordinated with relevant agencies to conduct an actual inspection of the Lo Gach - Nuoc Trong bridge route.

The inspection results show that the 4km long route, with an 18m wide road surface and a median strip, is now seriously degraded, with many sections damaged, peeling, potholes, and deep holes; lack of signage, road markings, and inadequate lighting; frequent flooding when it rains. The route has a high traffic density, especially during rush hour, posing a potential risk of traffic safety. The traffic volume of trucks and containers is large due to serving brick kilns and industrial zones. In particular, there are many brick kilns operating on both sides of the route, causing pollution, violating traffic safety corridors, encroaching on the roadside, and dragging mud onto the road, causing slippery conditions and traffic safety.

In 2022, the project to upgrade and expand the Lo Gach - Nuoc Trong bridge route was approved for investment. However, due to the incomplete adjustment of the land use planning, the project has not been implemented yet.

Therefore, the Department of Construction recommends that the Provincial People's Committee assign the competent authorities to urgently repair the road lighting system; repair the entire road surface to ensure traffic safety; organize sanitation, dredge sewers, and ensure drainage. At the same time, speed up the progress of the Project to Upgrade and Expand the Lo Gach - Nuoc Trong Bridge route.
