King's Cup downgraded, Thai football reduces ticket prices for spectators

(Dan Tri) - The Football Association of Thailand (FAT) has announced ticket prices for the 2025 King's Cup. It is worth noting that ticket prices for this long-standing tournament are quite cheap.

The 2025 King's Cup will feature Iraq, Fiji, Hong Kong (China) and host Thailand. Among the invited teams, except for Iraq, Fiji and Hong Kong are quite weak.

This has significantly reduced the appeal of this year’s King’s Cup compared to previous years. In the past, there was a time when the long-standing tournament in Thailand attracted very strong teams, such as Korea, Uzbekistan, Trinidad & Tobago, Slovakia…

South Korea, Trinidad & Tobago, Slovakia have all qualified for the World Cup, while Uzbekistan has just qualified for the 2026 World Cup. On the contrary, teams including Iraq, Fiji and Hong Kong have never qualified for the final round of the World Cup.

Therefore, the position of King's Cup 2025 is considered not as good as before. To attract audiences, FAT decided to sell tickets to watch this year's tournament at quite cheap prices, with two levels of 200 baht (about 162,000 VND)/ticket and 300 baht (about 243,000 VND)/ticket.

The venue for the 2025 King's Cup is the Lotus Stadium in Kanchanaburi Province. The capacity of this stadium is only about 12,000-14,000 people, belonging to the group of stadiums with average capacity in Thailand.

The King's Cup 2025 will take place between September 4 and September 7. This is a period of time that falls under FIFA Days (a series of days that FIFA allows teams around the world to gather their squads for international competitions, according to a unified schedule set by FIFA).

Thailand will play Fiji in the semi-finals, while Hong Kong will play Iraq on September 4. The winners of the semi-finals will then meet in the final on September 7. The losers of the semi-finals will meet in the third-place match, also on September 7.
