Horrifying moment high-speed train carrying 400 passengers crashes into truck

A high-speed train carrying hundreds of passengers crashed into a fruit truck at a level crossing, injuring five people.

According to Daily Mail, the collision between a train and a truck occurred in the village of Meteren, central Netherlands, at around 11:30 a.m. on October 30.

Video footage of the incident shows the truck driver suddenly backing onto the tracks as the barriers closed. The safety alarms started to blare and the barriers collapsed dramatically on both sides of the tracks. The truck driver tried to steer the truck to safety but was unable to do so. The high-speed train carrying about 400 passengers crashed into the fruit truck, injuring five people on board.

"There was significant material damage but fortunately people only suffered minor injuries," said a local resident.

Authorities have released video of the accident to warn other drivers about what they should do in similar situations to avoid serious consequences.

It is understood the high-speed train was also damaged, with one kilometer of track needing repair after the accident.
