Celebrating the 95th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2025): Promoting the role of women in the new era

On the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU), Khanh Hoa Newspaper, Radio and Television had an interview with Ms. Nguyen Quynh Nga - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Women's Union about the glorious tradition of the union and future orientations.

- Could you please share a few words about the glorious tradition of the association and the role of women in the construction and development of the province?

Comrade Nguyen Quynh Nga.

- Over 95 years of establishment and development, the Vietnam Women's Union has always promoted its role as a political and social organization representing, caring for and protecting the legitimate rights of women; striving for the cause of women's development and gender equality, becoming a common home, a reliable support for women of all classes. The Union has gathered and united women of all classes, promoted the tradition of "Heroic, indomitable, loyal, and courageous"; mobilized millions of women to participate in patriotic movements, contributing to the victory of the August Revolution in 1945 and the resistance wars to defend the Fatherland, as well as in the cause of national construction. Inheriting and promoting traditional values ​​and maturity over the past 95 years, the Union has built an increasingly strong organization, ready to join the whole country in entering a new era.

In Khanh Hoa, women play an important role in all areas of life, from economic development, preserving cultural identity, to participating in building the political system. Many women not only play the role of wife and mother in the family, but are also outstanding cadres, businesswomen, teachers, doctors..., actively contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.

- During the past 95 years, what outstanding activities has the Provincial Women's Union implemented to support and accompany women, sir?

- Over the years, the provincial women's associations at all levels have continuously innovated their content and methods of operation to suit practical requirements and meet the needs and aspirations of women of all classes. The emulation movements "Women actively study, work creatively, build happy families" associated with the campaigns "Training moral qualities: Confidence - self-respect - loyalty - responsibility", "Building a family of "5 no, 3 clean", contributing to fostering Vietnamese family values", implementing Directive No. 05 of the Politburo on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, "Women are good at public affairs, good at housework"... and the key tasks of the association have attracted a large number of women to participate, bringing practical effects in social life.

In addition, the association at all levels always accompanies and supports women in economic development, building happy families through loan programs, vocational training; start-ups, and business startups. Social security programs, housing care, livelihood support, helping students overcome difficulties to study well... are implemented by the association at all levels with many effective and practical models and activities, contributing to supporting women in remote areas, disadvantaged women. During epidemics or natural disasters, the association always plays a core role in propaganda and mobilization to help people overcome difficulties.

- To continue the tradition and promote the role of women in the new era, what key activities will the women's associations at all levels in the province focus on, comrade?

- In the coming time, the association at all levels will focus on strengthening propaganda, raising awareness and capacity for cadres, members and women; at the same time, promoting studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style. In addition, promoting digital transformation, applying information technology in association activities; continuing to effectively implement programs to support women in starting businesses, developing sustainable economy, protecting the environment and adapting to climate change; building an effective association organization that can flexibly adapt to the new context. On the other hand, striving to successfully complete the key tasks of the association, contributing to the completion of the socio-economic targets of the province, and successfully implementing the tasks set out in the Resolution of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030...

I believe that, with the joint efforts, unanimity and precious traditions nurtured through generations, Khanh Hoa women will continue to shine, making worthy contributions to the sustainable development of the province in the new period.
