Lam Dong: Opening more schools for the children of officials and workers coming to work in the province.

To prepare for the 2025-2026 school year, the Department of Education and Training of Lam Dong province is preparing all necessary conditions to receive students who are children of officials, civil servants, and workers from Binh Thuan and Dak Nong (formerly) provinces who come to Lam Dong to work.

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên27/07/2025

On July 27, the Director of the Lam Dong Department of Education and Training, Le Thi Bich Lien, announced that, prior to the start of the new school year, the Department had received applications from 1,249 students of all levels (as of July 25) who are children of officials, civil servants, members of the armed forces, and workers to attend schools in the former Da Lat City (Lam Dong).

According to Ms. Le Thi Bich Lien, the Lam Dong Department of Education and Training has reviewed the school system in the former Da Lat City, especially schools near the headquarters of agencies and units, to arrange for the children of officials to study in Lam Dong and to make it convenient for parents to drop off and pick up their children.

Accordingly, the Lam Dong Department of Education and Training has prepared a plan to open 7 additional classrooms for students in grades 6, 7, 8, and 9 at Quang Trung Secondary School, Phan Chu Trinh Secondary School, and Chi Lang Secondary and High School (formerly part of Da Lat City), to fully meet the needs of students registering for school transfers.

In parallel, the Lam Dong Department of Education and Training has planned to adjust teachers and essential equipment to ensure the changes in teaching and learning in the new school year.

Regarding the forecast of potential student overcrowding in schools in the former Da Lat City and teacher shortages due to student enrollment fluctuations, the Director of the Lam Dong Department of Education and Training, Le Thi Bich Lien, stated that the simultaneous influx of a large number of students from the former Binh Thuan and Dak Nong provinces into secondary schools in the former Da Lat City presents a temporary challenge and difficulty due to the high student-to-class ratio. However, to address this issue, the Department of Education and Training has proactively organized meetings with schools to discuss and rationally arrange the number of students to be admitted to each grade and class according to each school's capacity.

To address the overcrowding of classes and student-to-class ratios, the Lam Dong Department of Education and Training is reviewing and coordinating with relevant agencies to propose to the competent authorities the opening of additional multi-level schools, temporarily utilizing surplus facilities to meet the educational needs of children of officials and civil servants from the former Binh Thuan and Dak Nong provinces who have come to work in Lam Dong.

"With its proactive approach and sense of responsibility, the Lam Dong education sector is determined to stand alongside and share the difficulties with its staff, civil servants, and workers, helping them stabilize their lives so they can focus on their work," shared Ms. Le Thi Bich Lien.
