Lam Dong assigned leaders of the Provincial People's Committee to respond to storm No. 13 (Kalmaegi)

On November 6, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi issued an urgent notice assigning leaders of the Provincial People's Committee to directly direct the response to storm No. 13 (international name Kalmaegi).

Implementing the Official Dispatch No. 25/CD-BCĐ-BNNMT of the National Civil Defense Steering Committee and Official Dispatch No. 208/CD-TTg of the Prime Minister , Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee assigned leaders to direct storm prevention and control work from November 5 to 9 in three areas: Lam Dong of thousands of flowers (KV1), Lam Dong of blue sea (KV2) and Lam Dong of great forests (KV3).

Specifically, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi and Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Phuc are on duty at Zone 1; Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh is on duty at Zone 2; Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Le Trong Yen is on duty at Zone 3.

The assigned leaders are responsible for closely monitoring the developments of typhoon Kalmaegi; directing local authorities to promptly deploy response measures, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property and essential infrastructure.

The Provincial People's Committee requested localities to fully prepare forces, means and materials according to the "4 on-site" motto; at the same time, review and inspect the safety of lake systems, irrigation dams, hydroelectric plants, residential areas along rivers, streams, and areas at risk of landslides and floods.

Reservoir management units are required to strictly implement reservoir operation procedures, ensuring safety of works and downstream areas, especially in cases of emergency flood discharge.

In addition, plans to ensure traffic, communication and disaster response are also required to be prepared in order to effectively respond to situations that may be caused by storm No. 13.

Typhoon Kalmaegi entered the eastern sea area of ​​the central South China Sea on November 5, becoming the 13th storm in the South China Sea in 2025.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 6:00 a.m. on November 6, the center of storm No. 13 was about 360 km east-southeast of Quy Nhon ( Gia Lai ). The strongest wind was level 14 (150 - 166 km/h), gusting to level 17. It is forecasted that in the next 3 hours, the storm will move mainly in a westerly direction, at a speed of about 30 km/h.
