Illustration using AI technology
In an age where a phone can turn you into a salesperson, a content creator, or even a global entrepreneur, technology is opening up a world of money-making opportunities.
But along with that comes an uncomfortable reality: many people think they are making money through technology, but in fact they are the ones being made money .
Unprecedented money making opportunities from technology
Starting a business, making money, and building a personal brand has never been easier:
A TikTok account can turn you into a KOL.
One Shopee page, you can start your business.
With a little AI knowledge, you can provide design services, edit content, write books, and even build websites in just a few minutes.
This is an era where digital knowledge, digital tools, and digital thinking can help anyone generate income - as long as they know how to leverage it properly.
Many young Vietnamese people are making good use of tools like ChatGPT, Midjourney, CapCut, Canva, Webflow… to create value and income. Many people earn from 10-50 million VND per month with just a personal laptop.
But are you sure you're in control of the game?
Along with the opportunities are a series of traps "disguised under the guise of technology":
A series of apps for “watching videos to earn money”, “doing tasks to receive rewards”, or courses for “getting rich with AI, dropshipping, NFT” are being advertised widely on social networks. They promise millions of dong in income every day, but are actually disguised multi-level traps, or modern Ponzi schemes.
The tricks are getting more and more sophisticated: using deepfake to imitate the voice of relatives to borrow money, impersonating blockchain exchanges, making videos proving "earning real money" with virtual accounts...
Thousands of people have fallen victim. Lost money. Lost personal data. And lost faith in the true value of technology.
The big question: Are you using technology, or being used by technology?
In a world where every click, personal data, and even your glance at the screen can be collected, analyzed, and monetized, ask yourself whether you are in control of your monetization journey, or are you being controlled by those very platforms?
You can absolutely make money with technology. But don't forget: if you're not paying for a product, you're probably the product.
Some tips to avoid being “reverse-billed” in the digital age:
Understand the operating principles of the platform (TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, AI apps...).
Verify information before "putting money down": There is no magic tool to help you get rich quickly, only clever models that appeal to greed.
Know how to use AI as an assistant, not completely dependent, create real value instead of "following trends" or copying money-making formulas of unknown origin.
Stay alert to all the "easy money" offers, if it's too easy and everyone can do it, you're the product.
Master technology. Don't let it master you.
