During the press conference introducing the 3rd Cho Lon Food Story Festival on October 30th, many questions were raised, such as:
Vendors could reduce or minimize food portions to lower prices, extend festival time, address hygiene concerns, expand festival space, and use environmentally friendly products.
We strive to provide the best possible experience.
After three editions, the Cho Lon Food Story Festival has become a signature event with a distinctive Vietnamese-Chinese influence in District 5, now the Cho Lon - An Dong - Cho Quan wards.
The organizers acknowledged the feedback and encouraged food stalls to find ways to make smaller, more affordable dishes so that visitors would have more choices.
In addition, the organizers have also tried to overcome limitations and provide more water sources to ensure that the booths maintain good hygiene. This year's event space is also ensured to be spacious and airy.
Regarding the proposal to extend the festival to give people more opportunities to experience it, the organizers affirmed that this would be very difficult, as many restaurants and eateries have to temporarily close during the event to ensure the best possible service for visitors.
Three days is just enough time for the organization and management to be carried out in the best way.
The festival's goal is not profit, but rather to promote and showcase long-standing restaurants and eateries in the former District 5 in particular and the Cholon area in general.

60 stalls participated in the Cho Lon Food Festival.
With the theme "Fragrance of the Five Flavors, " the Cho Lon Food Story Festival 2025 combines aroma, color, and the five basic flavors of cuisine (sweet, sour, salty, spicy, and bitter).
"The Five Flavors" are the five basic tastes in Eastern cuisine (sweet, sour, salty, spicy, bitter) considered symbols of the balance of yin and yang, the five elements (metal, wood, water, fire, earth), and also represent the five language groups of the Chinese ethnic groups: Teochew, Fujian, Cantonese, Hainanese, and Hakka.
The festival is one of the activities aimed at preserving, honoring, and spreading the unique culinary values of the Vietnamese and Chinese communities in the Cholon area, further building the "Delicious Food in District 5" brand.
This is also an opportunity for restaurants and eateries in the area to promote their brands to locals and tourists, contributing to tourism development and making the area a typical culinary tourism destination of Ho Chi Minh City.
