The 5 gold medals won by the Vietnamese sports delegation today came from the following sports: Shooting, Karate, Bowling, and Swimming.
At the start of the competition day, the Vietnamese Shooting Team made a strong impression with a "double" gold medal win, simultaneously breaking two SEA Games records in the individual and team events. In the women's 10m air pistol team event, Trinh Thu Vinh and Nguyen Thuy Trang won gold medals. And Trieu Thi Hoa Hong performed excellently, bringing home the prestigious gold medal.
Notably, the Vietnamese trio of shooters also set a new SEA Games record with a total score of 1,771, significantly surpassing the two teams behind them, Thailand (1,702 points) and Malaysia (1,701 points).

Shortly afterwards, in the women's 10m pistol event, Trinh Thu Vinh and Nguyen Thuy Trang displayed composure and stability, successively overcoming their opponents. As a result, the Vietnamese shooters both stepped onto the podium to receive medals, with Trinh Thu Vinh winning the gold medal and Nguyen Thuy Trang taking the silver. With this gold medal, Thu Vinh also set a new SEA Games record in the women's 10m pistol event with 242.7 points.

Following the success of the Vietnamese Shooting Team, the Vietnamese Karate Team, with athletes Nguyen Thi Dieu Ly, Hoang Thi My Tam, and Nguyen Thi Thu, delivered a convincing performance, defeating Thailand 2-0 in the women's team Kumite final to win the gold medal.

The biggest surprise for the Vietnamese sports delegation today was undoubtedly the gold medal won by 16-year-old athlete Tran Hoang Khoi in the men's singles bowling event. The young man... Vietnam pulled off a major surprise by defeating their home opponent Thailand in the men's singles final, thereby bringing home the gold medal for Vietnamese sports.

Good news at the end of the day came from the swimming pool as swimmer Pham Thanh Bao continued to assert his dominance, successfully defending his title in the men's 200m breaststroke. He finished first in the final heat with a time of 2 minutes 12 seconds 81, thereby winning the SEA Games 33 gold medal, adding to his collection which already included silver and bronze medals in relay events.
Concluding the fifth day of competition, the Vietnamese sports delegation has won 35 gold medals, 33 silver medals, and 66 bronze medals. As of 10:00 PM on December 14th, the Vietnamese sports delegation has a total of 134 medals, ranking third on the SEA Games 33 medal table.
