On the evening of December 14th, a victory in a penalty shootout against host nation Thailand helped the Philippine women's team meet the Vietnamese women's team in the SEA Games 33 final.
Earlier at 4 PM, the Vietnamese women's team secured a convincing 5-0 victory against the Indonesian women's team in the first semi-final, officially qualifying for the SEA Games women's football final. Coach Mai Duc Chung's team aims to successfully defend their gold medal.

Assessing the match against the Indonesian women's team, coach Mai Duc Chung said that the personnel changes in the first half meant the team's formation wasn't operating smoothly. "In the first half, I made a few changes, so the team wasn't quite in sync. In the second half, the players performed more effectively, followed the coaching staff's instructions, and scored more goals," he shared.

Looking ahead to the final against the opponent who defeated Vietnam in the group stage, coach Mai Duc Chung affirmed the determination of the Vietnamese women's national team. "Having reached the final, it doesn't matter who we face; we will be highly determined. This is the 11th time Vietnamese women's football has reached the SEA Games final, which is a great honor, and the whole team will do their best to achieve the best possible result," he emphasized.

Meanwhile, Bich Thuy – the best player of the match against Indonesia – shared her joy and expressed her confidence in the final. “We achieved our goal in the semi-final. I am very happy and delighted that the whole team has qualified for the final. My immediate goal is to forget today's victory and focus entirely on the final,” Bich Thuy said.
