Vo Thi My Tien had a brief conversation with Mr. Dinh Viet Hung, Vice President of the Vietnam Aquatic Sports Association, and the young woman expressed her sadness.

Afterward, My Tien burst into tears and walked towards the tunnel. A representative from the Vietnamese swimming team's coaching staff said that the leaders came to comfort My Tien, had a quick exchange, offered professional advice, and asked her questions about technique, which led to her emotional reaction.

Vo Thi My Tien won a silver medal in the women's 400m individual medley, losing to the swimmer from the host country.

My Tien had a good start, consistently staying in the leading group throughout the race, trailing Kamonchanok by less than 1 second.

On December 13th, the Vietnamese swimming team won two silver medals and one bronze medal.

Born in 2005, Vo Thi My Tien is considered a rapidly developing young talent in Vietnamese swimming. This female swimmer consistently makes her mark at domestic competitions thanks to her ability to compete in many distances, from 50m to 1,500m.

As soon as she saw the scoreboard, My Tien leaned against the edge of the swimming pool in disappointment.

Last year, My Tien was one of the Vietnamese athletes participating in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
