This is an activity on the occasion of the high-ranking delegation of Stung Treng province attending the memorial service and burial of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died during the war in Cambodia at Duc Co Martyrs Cemetery.

We would like to express our condolences to the Vietnamese people in general and to the relatives of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives on the Cambodian battlefield in particular. When we came here, we saw the strong socio -economic development of Gia Lai province. On the occasion of today's visit, we hope that the provincial leaders will call on and encourage Gia Lai investors to invest in the northeastern provinces of Cambodia.”

In response, comrade Ho Van Nien - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, on behalf of the provincial leaders, expressed his joy and welcomed the Governor as well as the high-ranking delegation of Stung Treng province to visit Gia Lai .
Comrade Ho Van Nien shared: “Gia Lai in particular, and Vietnam in general, have just celebrated the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and the reunification of the country. This was a fierce war, during which Vietnam not only fought off foreign invaders but also, together with the Cambodian people, defeated the Pol Pot genocidal regime. We are also very grateful for the cooperation between the Cambodian Government and People in the past time, especially the northeastern provinces of Cambodia, which have helped and supported Vietnam in the process of searching for and recovering the remains of martyrs, bringing them back to the Motherland.
In the future, the process of searching and retrieving martyrs' remains may encounter many difficulties due to the long time and increasingly limited information. Therefore, we hope that the Cambodian Government and People will continue to support Gia Lai and other provinces of Vietnam to carry out this extremely sacred task well."
On this occasion, the Provincial Party Secretary briefly introduced Gia Lai, the potentials and strengths of the province; emphasizing the development potentials of high-tech agriculture, processing industry, renewable energy, tourism, etc.

The Provincial Party Secretary commented: “In the past, some Gia Lai enterprises also had business relations with the northeastern provinces of Cambodia, however, this activity has not been widespread. Therefore, in the coming time, we will direct the Provincial Business Association to study and advise the provincial leaders to promote this activity more strongly; at the same time, we hope that the leaders of Gia Lai and Stung Treng provinces will regularly coordinate to promote increasingly close relations in all fields.”
