Provincial People's Committee leaders work with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Pakse Luang Prabang Laos

On the morning of January 3, Comrade Nguyen Cao Son, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, had a working session with Comrade Kieu Thi Hang Phuc, Consulate General of Vietnam in Luang Prabang and Comrade Nguyen Van Trung, Consulate General of Vietnam in Pakse, Lao PDR. Attending the meeting were leaders of the Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Tourism, Department of Culture and Sports , and the Office of the Provincial People's Committee.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Cao Son briefly informed about some highlights of the socio -economic situation of Ninh Binh province in recent years and the province's development policies, orientations, strategies and solutions in the coming years.

He emphasized: After more than 30 years of re-establishment of the province, Ninh Binh has made steady progress in socio-economic development with a consistent viewpoint and orientation of "green and sustainable" development. Currently, Ninh Binh is focusing on implementing strategic goals and tasks, which are: Building Ninh Binh into a Millennium Heritage City; a tourist center of the country and the region; a major center of cultural industry; a leading center of the automobile industry; a hub connecting UNESCO-recognized heritages; a growth pole of the Southern Red River Delta region. Ninh Binh strives to become a fairly developed province by 2030, basically meeting the criteria of a centrally-run city, and by 2035 becoming a centrally-run city.

Regarding the cooperation relationship between Ninh Binh and Lao provinces, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed: Over the past years, the friendly cooperation activities between Ninh Binh province and Lao localities have been continuously consolidated, expanded and developed, notably the friendly cooperation with Udomxay province established since 2011. Ninh Binh province is studying and researching the content of cooperation, aiming to establish a cooperative and friendly relationship in the future with the capital Vientiane.

In the field of culture and tourism, Ninh Binh provincial authorities are exploring cooperation opportunities with the Department of Culture and Tourism of Luang Prabang province to connect tourist destinations of historical and cultural relics of Hoa Lu Ancient Capital and Luang Prabang Ancient Capital; create new and unique tourism products; and share valuable experiences in preserving, restoring and promoting the value of cultural and historical relics of the Ancient Capital.

He hoped to continue receiving support from the Consulate General in preserving and promoting the good traditional relationship between Ninh Binh province and Udomsay province; to be a bridge and accompany the province in promoting cooperation between the province and other localities in order to make the friendly cooperation relationship more practical and effective, bringing benefits to the State, businesses, people of Ninh Binh province and the province's partner localities in Laos.

Provincial People's Committee leaders worked with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Pakse and the Consulate General of Vietnam in Luang Prabang, Laos. — Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Cao Son presented a souvenir of Thai Binh Hung Bao coin to the working delegation.

At the meeting, Comrade Kieu Thi Hang Phuc, Consulate General of Vietnam in Luang Prabang and Comrade Nguyen Van Trung, Consulate General of Vietnam in Pakse expressed their joy at the development of Ninh Binh province. At the same time, they informed about the socio-economic situation of Laos and the cooperative and twinning relationship between Vietnamese provinces and Lao provinces. The Consulate Generals highly appreciated the attention and material and spiritual support of Ninh Binh province for Udomxay province in the past time, especially the valuable and timely support in the work of preventing and fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, and supporting international students to study in Ninh Binh. They also suggested further directions for cooperation and support for some provinces of Laos in the coming time.

Also at the meeting, leaders of departments and branches discussed and clarified some contents that the Vietnamese Consulate General in Laos requested Ninh Binh province to cooperate on.
