On the afternoon of November 5, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province established three working groups led by leaders of the provincial People's Committee to inspect the proactive response to storm No. 13 (Kalmaegi) in the eastern coastal localities of the province.

The working delegation led by Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee Ta Anh Tuan inspected the Dan Phuoc fishing port, Tu Nham sea area, coastal area of ​​Dan Phu 1 residential group, Song Cau ward and sea area of ​​Hoa An village, Xuan Canh commune.

At the destinations, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee listened to reports from local authorities and armed forces on the implementation of storm prevention and control measures; inspected the mooring of boats, house bracing, and prepared forces and means for rescue when situations arise.

Colonel Nguyen Cong Tuan, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard Command, reported on the situation and implementation of storm prevention and control measures No. 13.

According to the report of the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard Command, as of 4 p.m. on November 5, the total number of vessels in the province was 2,555 fishing boats with 10,994 workers. Of which, 22 boats with 102 workers were anchored to avoid the storm in Truong Sa Special Zone; 33 boats with 165 workers were operating in the South Truong Sa area, Ho Chi Minh City; 12 transport ships with 110 crew members were anchored to avoid the wind in Vung Ro Bay and Xuan Dai Bay.

Up to now, all fishing boats and fishermen of Dak Lak province have reached safe anchorage, the rest have moved to the southern sea, out of the danger zone.

The province currently has 2,613 rafts and 52,140 aquaculture cages with 3,152 workers, concentrated in Song Cau ward, Xuan Dai ward and O Loan, Tuy An Nam, Hoa Xuan and Xuan Loc communes. All workers on the cages and rafts have been informed and fully instructed by the Border Guard about the developments and movement of the storm to proactively respond.

Along with that, the coastal units of the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard have completed the notification and guidance of ships to safe shelters; coordinated with local authorities to review and make a list of areas at risk of landslides and deep flooding, and prepared plans to evacuate people to safe places when required.

At the places visited for on-site inspection, Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee Ta Anh Tuan requested all levels, sectors and local forces to closely monitor the storm's developments, strictly maintain on-duty and combat duty regimes, effectively implement the "four on-site" motto; proactively plan to evacuate people, and ensure absolute safety for people's lives and property.

“All boats of Dak Lak province have come ashore for safe shelter, only a few boats are still anchored in the Truong Sa archipelago. We have encouraged people to harvest aquatic products early, and at the same time, we have checked areas where high tides are likely to occur to proactively evacuate people when required. The focus is on ensuring the safety of people's lives, especially in vulnerable areas, taking precautions against high tides, heavy rains, landslides and flooding due to the impact of storm circulation,” Comrade Ta Anh Tuan emphasized.

Also on the afternoon of November 5, Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, Comrade Dao My, and the provincial working delegation inspected the work of preventing and fighting storm No. 13 at Dong Tac fishing port, Phu Yen ward.

During the inspection, the delegation listened to local leaders and Tuy Hoa Border Guard Station report on the implementation of storm response plans, guidance and arrangement of boats to anchor safely, ensuring the safety of fishermen's lives and property...

By the afternoon of November 5, Dak Lak province had completed the task of calling on ships to take shelter in safe places, fully prepared human resources, means, and materials to respond, ready to promptly handle any natural disaster situations, contributing to ensuring the safety of people's lives and property from the impact of storm Kalmaegi.
