Laos affirms its desire to continue strengthening friendly relations with Vietnam.

Lao Ambassador to Malaysia Thepthavone expressed his hope that Laos and Vietnam will continue to further strengthen this friendly and lasting relationship in the future.

On November 29, Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia Dinh Ngoc Linh led a delegation of the Embassy and Vietnamese representative agencies to visit and work at the Lao Embassy in Malaysia on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (December 2, 1975 - December 2, 2024).

Lao Ambassador to Malaysia Thepthavone, the Embassy's leadership and staff warmly welcomed the delegation.

According to VNA reporter in Kuala Lumpur, Ambassador Dinh Ngoc Linh presented the Lao Embassy with a beautiful flower basket, expressing the deep friendship between the two countries.

At the reception, Ambassador Dinh Ngoc Linh sent warm congratulations to the Lao Government and people on the occasion of the National Day, and expressed his joy at the great achievements that the Lao Party, State and people have achieved over the past nearly 50 years.

For his part, Ambassador Thepthavone thanked the Party, State and people of Vietnam for their good sentiments towards the Party, State and people of Laos, and thanked Vietnam for its support for Laos during its Chairmanship of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 2024, and expressed his hope that the two countries would continue to further strengthen this close and friendly relationship in the future.

Ambassador Thepthavone also commented that General Secretary To Lam 's visit to Malaysia was successful, highly appreciated Vietnam and Malaysia's upgrading of their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, and emphasized that this is a new step forward to help the cooperative relationship between the two countries develop further.

Ambassador Dinh Ngoc Linh expressed his sincere gratitude for the good feelings that Lao friends, including Ambassador Thepthavone, have shown to the Vietnamese people.

In addition, Ambassador Dinh Ngoc Linh emphasized that Vietnam always wishes to cooperate closely with Laos, especially within the ASEAN framework, to actively contribute to building a united, prosperous and sustainably developed regional community.

The two Ambassadors also discussed a number of regional and international issues, noting that Malaysia's ASEAN Chairmanship next year will see many exciting foreign affairs activities, while affirming that Vietnam and Laos will cooperate closely at upcoming summits, first of all the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting (AMM Retreat) held in Langkawi.

The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, demonstrating the close relationship between the two countries and two brotherly peoples who always accompany each other on the path of development and international integration./.
