In the fall of 1965, a farmer named Pei Shan in Heilongjiang Province, China, was digging up green bricks from the ancient city wall near his house to build a pigsty. He was startled when he dug into a piece of metal.
The man felt very strange, and slowly dug with his hand. Immediately after, a metallic object shaped like a dragon appeared right in front of him.

Mr. Bui quietly brought this strange object home, wiped it clean with a cloth, and hung it on the window. He had worked hard all day and felt very tired. After eating, he went to bed and fell into a deep sleep.
In the middle of the night, he was awakened by a strange sound in his room. After checking the whole house, he discovered that the strange sound came from the dragon he dug up that afternoon. He gathered all his courage to go closer to listen, the sound gradually became louder, cyclical, from small to large, like a mournful cry in the deep wild forest.
Although he was known throughout the village for his bravery, he was now shivering and sweating profusely. He thought to himself, “Oh my god, has the dragon god shown his power? Is it because I brought it home that it is angry?”
But strangely, at around 5am the next day, the dragon stopped making its strange noise. This continued to happen in the following days, making the farmer’s family extremely confused and scared.
Mr. Bui then decided to hand the dragon over to experts from the Harbin City Cultural Relics Bureau for investigation.
After studying, experts explained that this small dragon-shaped object is called Dong Toa Long. Its body is shaped like a dragon, but its head is a bit like a lion, and its mouth is like an eagle.
On the body of the Copper Toa Long are small holes arranged very delicately, just a small wind blowing through those small holes will make a sound. As for the problem of the sound disappearing when it is morning, experts say that because the night is quiet, the sound can be heard clearly, during the day there is a lot of noise so the sound is unclear, inaudible.
Currently, Dong Toa Long has become a national first-class cultural relic, and is being preserved and kept in the cultural relics museum in Heilongjiang.
