According to a VNA correspondent in Beijing, on June 28, Comrade Nong Duc Manh, former General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam , attended the ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the promulgation of the "Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence" in Beijing, China.

The celebration is themed “From Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence to Building a Community with a Shared Future for Humanity.”

The ceremony was attended by more than 100 delegates and guests, including more than 20 former Presidents, Prime Ministers and senior leaders of countries, along with experts, scholars and friendly personalities.

At the ceremony, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping affirmed the significance and value of the “Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence”; these are great, universal viewpoints and principles in modern international relations, in line with the principles and charter of the United Nations Charter, highly appreciated and widely recognized by the international community; in line with the foreign policies of the majority of countries.

General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping stressed that in the context of the world and regional situation facing many challenges, more than ever, countries need to continue to uphold the spiritual significance of the “Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence” and make efforts to: Adhere to the principle of sovereign equality; Lay a solid foundation for mutual respect; Realize the vision of peace and security; Gather strength to jointly build prosperity; Uphold the concept of fairness and justice and demonstrate the spirit of openness and inclusion.

On this occasion, former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh spoke highly of China's organization of the Anniversary Ceremony, which has profound international and contemporary significance.

Comrade Nong Duc Manh emphasized that, after 70 years of formation and application in international relations, the "Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence" have shown strong vitality and have become the standard and fundamental basis of international relations and international law, contributing to protecting the legitimate rights and interests of many countries in the world, especially developing countries, while promoting an active role in consolidating the trend of peace and stability, building a world economic and political order in an increasingly fair, reasonable and tolerant direction, as well as contributing to the peaceful resolution of disagreements and "hotspot" issues on the basis of international law.

Comrade Nong Duc Manh affirmed that on the basis of an independent, self-reliant, multilateral and diversified foreign policy, Vietnam supports and is ready to actively participate in initiatives of all parties, including China's global initiatives, with the goal of serving the common interests of all mankind, peace and progress of the people of the world, in accordance with the United Nations Charter, the "Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence" and international law.
