Lisa (Blackpink) has remarkable activities while Jennie is criticized

According to the Korea Herald, Kpop idol Lisa (Blackpink) was announced as the main performer of the Global Citizen Festival 2024, taking place in New York City's Central Park on September 23.

Blackpink has had the honor of being the main performer at many famous international music festivals such as Coachella 2023 in the US and Global Citizen Festival 2023 in the UK.

But this is the first time a member of the group has had a solo performance at a major music festival as a main performer.

Earlier this year, Lisa appeared alone on stage at the Yellow Pieces Gala charity concert in Paris, organized by French First Lady Brigitte Macron.

And now it's the music festival of Global Citizen - a world-leading international advocacy organization with a mission to end extreme poverty, headquartered in New York.

The Global Citizen Festival has been held annually since 2012. Last year, BTS' Jungkook became the first K-pop solo artist to perform at the Global Citizen Festival. Lisa followed suit as the first female K-pop solo artist to do so.

Lisa's comeback single "Rockstar" has achieved impressive results. The song peaked at No. 70 on the Billboard Hot 100, No. 4 on the Billboard Global 200, and No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 Excl. US.

As the first member of Blackpink to release an official solo song after the group did not renew their individual contracts with YG Entertainment, Lisa's achievements open up expectations that the next products of Blackpink members (Jennie, Rosé, Jisoo) will continue to explode.
