Originating from pressure

For the past 3 years, Ms. NTT in Binh Han Ward (Hai Duong City) has been facing insomnia and headaches. What was more worrying was that Ms. T., who was only in her 30s, had symptoms that only appeared in the elderly. At first, she was subjective, thinking that it was a normal sign of the body. Only when the disease persisted and lasted for a long time, causing fatigue, did she seek medical treatment.

Ms. T. said that at first she only treated the symptoms of the disease but did not see any improvement, but on the contrary, it got worse. When she was consulted by a psychiatrist, Ms. T. realized that the above symptoms came from the pressures and changes in her life. Having two children in a row while her job was not stable, her husband worked far away and there was no support from both families, made Ms. T. feel tired and depressed. This led to her often having insomnia and headaches. Ms. T. is still receiving outpatient treatment.

Mr. LVH (40 years old) in Ninh Giang district has just finished psychological treatment at a hospital in the province. Mr. H. also never thought he would be in this situation. After a few moments of hesitation and hesitation, Mr. H. also opened up to share. Mr. H. is a businessman, admired by his family and relatives. However, after the Covid-19 epidemic, his work was not very favorable and he could not hold on, leading to bankruptcy. However, because he did not want to lose his image, he hid it from his family and managed it himself. A long period of anxiety and stress caused Mr. H. to have physical weakness with symptoms of suffocation, difficulty breathing, and irritability. In addition, Mr. H. often had poor sleep, causing his health to decline.

When he noticed that Mr. H. had unusual symptoms, his family encouraged him to go for a check-up and treatment. “Only by experiencing it can one know how terrible the psychological pressure is. When there is no sharing or release, the patient becomes more depressed, desperate and develops negative thoughts,” Mr. H. expressed.

The more developed society is, the more pressure there is, making people easily fall into negative emotional states. When psychological developments cannot be controlled, it will lead to mental disorders, especially psychosomatic diseases.

Mental health care

According to the leader of Hai Duong Mental Hospital, the number of people coming to the hospital for treatment of mental illnesses has increased in recent years. It is worth noting that more and more young people are coming for examination and treatment, even students. Mental illnesses originate from psychological trauma due to the impact of natural and social conditions, inside and outside the body. These factors affect the mind, causing feelings of anxiety, restlessness, fear, stress, insecurity, etc. People with mental illnesses do not distinguish between age and gender. In particular, if not detected early and treated promptly, it can lead to reckless and foolish actions.

In fact, mental illness is not only a manifestation of insanity and loss of consciousness, but also a psychological problem that is often considered normal. In addition, people with mental disorders also have physical symptoms similar to other diseases such as chest tightness, palpitations, sweating, chills, bloating, belching, etc. Many signs of illness are vague and unclear, causing patients to mistakenly think they have common diseases. Therefore, many people are subjective and take treatment lightly.

The treatment of mental illness also has many characteristics, different from common diseases. In addition to treating the symptoms of the disease, it is necessary to find the psychological cause, apply appropriate psychological therapy to relieve pressure and stress. Each patient has different circumstances and causes of psychological trauma, so understanding, analyzing the nature of the incident, finding ways to resolve and reconcile are very important in mental illness treatment. For mental illness, if the cause of the disease is not found, the treatment will not be effective.

Mental illnesses are common in varying degrees, but mild forms are rarely noticed or cared for. This causes both the mental and physical health of the patient to decline, affecting the quality of life. In particular, the mental health of school-age children is still neglected and lacks direction. This is also the cause of some unfortunate and heartbreaking events among school-age children.

According to psychiatrist Nguyen Thi Thu Ha (Hoa Binh General Hospital), if psychological and mental disorders are not detected and treated early, they will be dangerous and can lead to many damages for the patient. Therefore, taking care of mental health is very necessary and important for any age group.

In modern life, people with many social relationships increase burdens and pressures. Without balance and a solid psychological foundation, it is difficult to overcome psychological trauma caused by events and changes.
