Speaking at the closing session of the conference, Swiss President Viola Amherd said: "The discussions showed that there were many different points of view."

According to the leader, further steps are needed to achieve this goal and Switzerland is ready to continue playing an active role in this dialogue. He believes that "this conference will be followed by other forums aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine".

For his part, speaking at a press conference after the closing session of the conference, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the participants agreed to continue working in special groups after the event.

“Once the action plans for peace are ready, the path to the second conference will be open. We have agreed to start working in special groups after the conference on concrete ideas, proposals and developments that can restore security in various aspects,” he said.

President Zelensky also said he would be ready to negotiate peace immediately with Russia if Moscow withdrew its troops from Ukraine.

Also, referring to China, the Ukrainian leader clarified: “They can help us. Ukraine has never said that they are our enemy. However, Beijing should contact us directly with proposals to end the conflict with Russia, rather than through the media.”

The conference on Ukraine ended with a joint communique, in which the majority of participating countries agreed on the position and next steps towards the future peace process, believing that achieving peace requires participation and dialogue between all parties concerned.

The communique also urged the exchange of detainees and the repatriation of children displaced by the conflict. The conference participants also expressed concern and condemned the risk of a nuclear incident in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
