Uncle Ho's teachings yesterday, sow seeds today

(PLVN) - President Ho Chi Minh, the great leader of the Vietnamese people, not only led the country to independence and freedom but also left behind an invaluable legacy of ideology, morality and style. His teachings stemmed from a heart of deep patriotism, love for the people and a strategic vision that transcended the times, still holding true in value, guiding the cause of building and defending the Fatherland today.

Timeless teachings

The movement to study and follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle is not only a major policy of the Party and State but also an individual need and responsibility of every cadre, party member and Vietnamese people in the new development stage of the country.

During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh always emphasized the role of revolutionary ethics, considering it the "root" of a revolutionary. He taught: "Just like a river must have a source to have water, without a source the river will dry up. A tree must have roots, without roots the tree will wither. A revolutionary must have ethics, without ethics, no matter how talented, he cannot lead the people." Ho Chi Minh's ethics are the ethics of a communist, expressed in the spirit of ardent patriotism, absolute loyalty to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, the will to be self-reliant, self-reliant, and pure internationalism. It is also diligence, thrift, integrity, impartiality, immense love for compatriots and comrades, and a high sense of responsibility for work.

Not only focusing on ethics, Uncle Ho also paid special attention to working style. Ho Chi Minh's style is a harmonious combination of great thoughts and specific, simple actions. He always set a shining example of dedication, closeness to the masses, and listening to people's opinions. His working style is scientific , democratic, meticulous, thoughtful, always putting the interests of the collective and the people above all else. He did not accept bureaucracy, being far from reality, and disregarding the masses. Teachings about working style such as "words must match actions", "must go deep and close to the masses", "whatever is beneficial to the people, we must do our best. Whatever is harmful to the people, we must avoid", "we must love and respect the people so that the people will love and respect us" still hold true in the current context, when the country is promoting innovation and international integration.

Ho Chi Minh Thought is a comprehensive and profound system of viewpoints on the Vietnamese revolution, from the national liberation revolution to the socialist revolution. It is the thought of national independence associated with socialism, of the strength of the People, of the leadership role of the Communist Party of Vietnam , of building a State of the people, by the people, for the people. These thoughts have become the "compass" for all actions of our Party and people throughout the process of fighting for independence and building the country.

In the current period, when the world and regional situation has many complex and unpredictable developments, Uncle Ho's teachings have become even more practical and urgent. Patriotism, self-reliance and self-strengthening are the solid foundation for Vietnam to overcome all difficulties and challenges, firmly protect independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. Pure revolutionary ethics are the key factor in building a contingent of cadres and party members with both virtue and talent to meet the requirements of the revolutionary cause in the new period. A democratic, scientific and close-to-the-people working style is an effective way to strengthen the people's trust in the Party and the State, creating a strong driving force for the country's development.

Sowing the future from sustainable values

Implementing Uncle Ho's teachings, our Party and State have continuously promoted the movement of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle. From Directive 05-CT/TW in 2016 of the Politburo to specific resolutions, directives and action plans of Party committees and authorities at all levels, the movement has gone deep, spreading strongly throughout the entire political system and society.

Party committees and authorities at all levels have focused on incorporating the content of studying and following Uncle Ho into regular work programs and plans, in conjunction with the implementation of political tasks and the resolution of pressing issues of the people. Many agencies and units have developed professional ethics standards and cultural codes of conduct, creating a democratic, responsible and effective working environment. Patriotic emulation movements, campaigns to build cultural life in residential areas, build new rural areas and civilized urban areas are all deeply imbued with Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics and style.

In all areas of social life, we can clearly see the “green shoots” that are sprouting from studying and following Uncle Ho. Many examples of cadres and party members who are dedicated to their work, wholeheartedly serving the people, and free from corruption and negativity have been commended and widely spread. In the community, the spirit of mutual love, mutual assistance, and living responsibly towards society is increasingly enhanced. Volunteer activities and community movements are attracting more and more people to participate, clearly demonstrating the fine moral traditions of our nation that Uncle Ho has worked hard to cultivate.

In particular, studying and following Uncle Ho has been emphasized in the education of the younger generation. Schools have actively innovated the content and methods of moral and lifestyle education for students, integrating stories and lessons about Uncle Ho into subjects and extracurricular activities. The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and youth organizations have implemented many practical movements and activities, creating an environment for young people to practice and cultivate morality, promote the spirit of volunteerism, and contribute to the development of the country.

President Ho Chi Minh always had special love and care for children, considering them the happiness of the family and the future of the country. He compared children to the young buds, the future owners of the country, emphasizing that the comprehensive development of children determines the self-reliance and independence of the nation. He wanted children to be good and study well to preserve the country and make the country famous. During his lifetime, he often reminded sectors and organizations about the responsibility to protect, care for and educate children, considering it an important and necessary task for future revolutionary generations.

Imbued with Uncle Ho's teachings, our Party and State always attach importance to the work of protecting, caring for and educating children, demonstrated through policies prioritizing investment in education and the International Children's Day event on June 1. However, for this work to be truly effective, it requires the joint efforts of the entire community to solve children's problems, aiming to build a healthy, moral and intelligent future generation, contributing to the development of the country. "Children today, the world tomorrow", protecting and caring for children is a common responsibility of the whole society.

What is worth pondering for everyone today is that, in addition to the positive results, studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style still has certain limitations. In some places, the implementation is still formal, not really going into depth. For example, there is still a situation where cadres and party members have degraded in political ideology, morality and lifestyle, causing resentment among the people; there is still a situation of child abuse and mistreatment and law enforcement is not effective. In order for the study and following of Uncle Ho to be more effective, party committees, authorities and each individual need to continue to promote propaganda and education work, raise awareness of the meaning and importance of this work; associated with innovation in content and implementation methods, creating initiative and creativity in applying Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style. At the same time, the authorities need to strengthen inspection and supervision, promptly detect and strictly handle violations, and cases of saying things that do not match with actions. The whole society needs to focus on building and replicating advanced examples, good models, and creative ways of studying and following Uncle Ho, creating a strong spread throughout society.

Uncle Ho's teachings yesterday still resonate, illuminating the path forward for the nation. Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style is not only a political task but also a moral responsibility, a sacred sentiment of every Vietnamese person towards the beloved leader. Sowing green shoots today from the lasting values ​​that Uncle Ho left behind, we believe that Vietnam will become increasingly prosperous, happy, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers as Uncle Ho always wished.
