Flash flood at night, Ngoc Linh commune urgently evacuated people

On the morning of October 28, Mr. A Phuong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ngoc Linh Commune, Quang Ngai Province, confirmed that due to heavy rain, a flash flood occurred in Lang Moi village and the road to Ngoc Nang village was broken, isolating 5 villages. The commune has organized an emergency evacuation of households.

At 1am this morning, a flash flood suddenly poured into the Dak Rong stream area, Lang Moi village, sweeping away rocks and soil, damaging roads, drainage systems, coffee, macadamia, rice fields, and livestock barns of local households. Fortunately, the flash flood was about 500m away from the residential area, so people's houses were safe.

Also early this morning, heavy rain broke the road through Ngoc Nang village, cutting off traffic. Ngoc Nang village is at risk of landslides, so the commune authorities have organized the evacuation of more than 11 households in the dangerous area to a safe place. Currently, the forces are trying to reach 5 isolated villages and deploy emergency evacuation plans; preparing necessities, food, and medicine to provide when people need it.
